5.3 Beta 1 (5.3.0.1128) is available for testing.

Please refer to this thread for a warning about updating the 5.3 Beta 1. This version introduces a lot of brand new code to Logos, and as such should be considered slightly more unstable than usual.

To update to Beta 1, enter the Update Now command if you’ve switched to the beta channel before, or enter the Set Update Channel to Beta command if you’re on a stable version (such as 5.2b SR-1). To install Beta 1 from scratch, see the notes and download links on this thread.

I looked at the Release Notes, and it's exciting. I wish the Logos team every success in bringing this branch to gold! [8-|]

Suggestion: on the personal book syncing. Can we have a small icon on the bottom right hand corner of the book to indicate whether or not a title has been uploaded at a glance?

This is a screen cap of the PB window, my thinking is just to the left of the "last built" date, put a logos version of the following icon (which is probably copyrighted, but that similar sort of idea, that everyone has come to associate with syncing).

It would clearly need to be smaller, more in keeping with logos colors, and also rendered by a logos artist so as to not violate the copyright, but you get the idea i think of what I'm looking for.

Edit: is there a file size, or total file space limitation in place, and if so what is it?

Edit: also, when the files are downloaded onto the secondary device, shouldn't there be some indicator which files were downloaded/updated? When Logos updates a resource, it gives a list. "updated resources", would like to see something along those lines except with the caveat "updated personal resources".

Up and running on my MB Pro. Crashed the first time I started the programme, but haven't had any issues since.

The font for my bibles has changed from default san serif to the serif default, nothing in the settings will change it. Minor issue. I hadn't tried serif fonts since upgrading to retina display a few months ago and kind of like it now. [:)]

Font looked different to me too.

No crash here, also on Yosemite. No noticeable speed difference, yet. But no problems to report either.

Up and running in Windows 8 via Update Channel. Well done, team

Overall 64-bit installation is about 15 MB larger!

Sorry, not yet. At the moment, uploaded personal books only sync between computers running Logos Desktop.

Install on 64 bit Windows was flawless.

Install on 32 bit Windows initially crashed the system. See Dave's post concerning this at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/88363.aspx.

Install on 32 bit Windows initially crashed the system. See Dave's post concerning this at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/88363.aspx.

    It's a different problem as I have 64-bit Windows trying to run 32-bit 5.2b after installing 64-bit 5.3.

Ok, I misunderstood. I may try to install on another 32 bit machine to determine if it was just an isolated incident. On the netbook (being underpowered), I can expect things like this to occur. Anyway, it seems to be fine once I restarted the system.

    Thanks

    Update downloaded OK.

When I restarted from within Logos the update failed ==> message said cannot complete.

Started Logos and the update available prompt appeared it then installed without problem and is now running.

    God Bless

On my retina MBP, Huge speed improvement when changing layouts. After a brief pause, the whole screen refreshes at once, with the new layout fully loaded. Resources loading also seems to be many times faster. Overall the UI is much more responsive.

That maddening issue where you must pause and wait for the lookup suggestions to load before you press Enter (or else your command does not work) appears to be gone!
