Upgrade to Logos 5?

I currently have Scholar's Library: Platinum (KF) plus a few thousand additional resources. I'm wondering if the $1700 to upgrade to v.5 Diamond is money well spent. There are other resources (not included in such an upgrade) that I'd like to get now - but I also wonder if I am missing significant functionality from my v.4 version of Logos and should spend my pennies on the general (v.5) upgrade. Suggestions (esp. if you had the Platinum Scholars before and made such an upgrade)?

Well, independent of which books you want, the L5 crossgrade supplies all the functionality you can buy (if pennies are the issue). I assume you already have the full L4 functionality.

After the L5's functionalities are accounted for, it's simply what is in each package (if any) relative to what your needs are. In other words, your primary decision is which books you need.

What I do is make a list of which books in a given package I want, and then determine if the cost of the titles by themselves exceeds the cost of the BP. If the BP is cheaper (and it almost always is) then I get that. If the contents I care about are cheaper, then I get those.

I like the new functionality. I use some of the guides quite a bit. I love putting the verse into the box on the left, and a list with all the commentaries in my library on that verse popping up. With a few quick clicks I've got all of them open, and I'm off and studying. I am quite happy with L5.

If you don't have a salesman, email my guy, Rusty Davidson (rusty.davidson@logos.com). He can give you the best deal you'll find. Tell him I sent you... I may not get anything for it, but it will make him smile haha.

All that said the L5 engine is free, its the datasets that cost. If you decide to go the crossgrade route as Denise mentioned, get that AFTER a base package purchase (if you think you'll get one). Seems to me you get them at a better price as part of a base package than you do as part of the crossgrade.

Some people (having bought a base package) only pay a few dollars for the crossgrade. Any way, those are all things Rusty can help you sort out.
