Strong's Dictionary in Bible Word Studies

I am really new to Logos but was looking forward to seeing Strong's definitions and Vine's Studies "side-by-side" in the word study view. This is not working for me and I can't find any settings or anything to make this work. Right now all I'm seeing is Vine's.

anyone out there have a solution for me? or even a theory to try?

Strongs is accessible in the BWS when right clicking a word in the KJV and selecting Bible Word Study.

I would have to investigate (unable at the moment) but I suspect you may be seeing something else based upon whether or not you are using a reverse interlinear to get there. iirc, the AV is not so tagged, while the KJV is.

I'm using the KJV... Could it be that I've bought just a few resources and not a base package?

Also, as I look closer at it, Vine's is loading the OT Studies.

That could certainly contribute. The Bible Word Study does rely upon a basic set of resources typically associated with a package to function well.

Because the BWS relies upon the interlinears to draw it's original language data from the other resources, they are required.

Vine's isn't in the base packages. I'll do more research into the BWSs, from the link you gave.

Apparently I'm tired today - the answer was staring me in the face: The two resources are different. One is Greek/Hebrew the other is English.

If you're searching the English (e.g. "love") than you are going to get a "topic" section at the top of your BWS that will include vines because Vines is an english resource. If you have any other dictionaries, they also will show up in there. Strongs however is a Greek /Hebrew resource, therefore "love" isn't going to get you a result.

If you're searching the Greek (e.g. Agape) or the Hebrew (e.g. Hesed) the reverse is going to be true (You'll get Strongs but not Vines).

I knew one was greek and one was english... I just assumed Logos would do the leg-work and show me the greek word underlying the english translation I'm reading.

Is there an easy way to use Strong's... right now it's almost as much work as my hardcopy.

Is there an easy way to use Strong's... right now it's almost as much work as my hardcopy.

There are a couple of easy ways to use it.

First option

I'm assuming you're running your word studies from the English.

Go ahead and run your word study as your normally would. (Either by typing your word into the form, or right click and send to bible word study.)
You now have access to Vines in your topics section.
Locate the Greek or Hebrew word ring chart, and isolate a word you're interested in. for example the Greek: agape, click that word and the ring will separate to show you a list of those passages which use it.
Click the title that pops up and the word study in Greek will be started, Then you have access to Strongs (and any other Greek lexica) under the "lema" section.

A second option

open a blank BWS (Guides>Bible word study)
If you know the greek spelling of the word in latin letters (Translitterated) you can type it by inserting the letters EL and a colon prior to the word. (EL is the designation for Greek, HE is the designation for Hebrew)
This will provide a popup for you to run an original language word study on agape for example.

A third option

if you prioritize Strongs in your Library it will show up on your right click menu when you are within your Bible. (See the Wiki: https://wiki.logos.com/Prioritizing)
Then Open your Bible,
Right click your word.
Select "Lemma"
Select Bible word study.
