Shibboleth & powerpoint

I am using Shibboleth and enjoying it. Copying Greek words (RTF) into Word is great. But in PowerPoint for some reason the ~ accent on top of opening vowels is put on exactly the same position as the spiritus. I was wondering if there is a way to do it well.

Any suggestions?

That may be a function of the font you're using in PPT.

I am not sure if that is true. I am using the same font in PowerPoint and Word. In Word there is no problem, in PowerPoint there is.

To layout polytonic Greek correctly the application needs to use the write script composition engine; Microsoft invested in getting Word and other apps in good shape, but it's possible that PowerPoint is going through a different text-rendering stack. (I don't actually know.)

Does it work with sources other than Shibboleth?

It doesn't matter which font I am using. It works the same.

BUT, when I copy a word in Logos and paste it into PowerPoint it works fine.

This sounds like the difference between using precomposed (aka NFC) and decomposed (aka NFD) characters. Theoretically, it shouldn't matter, but if PowerPoint doesn't have a good Unicode text rendering engine (and it sounds like it doesn't), it will make a difference.

I don't remember if Shibboleth has an option to copy precomposed output, but if there is such an option, you should turn it on.
