Syntax Search - Dia plus the accusative

I've watched some online videos - trying to figure out the Syntax Search tool in Logos 5. But no matter what I do, it seems like my search always returns 0 results.

I am trying to do a search of the Greek preposition "dia" that is followed by either an noun or adjective in the accusative tense.

I know for a fact that dia takes the accusative in a number of instances, so I'm certain that I'm not searching for something that doesn't exist.

Would anyone here be willing to help demonstrate step by step how I would accomplish that type of search using Logos 5?

The Syntax Search tool seems like it could be such a useful tool, if I could just understand it better.

I must admit I know nothing of the Syntax Search - instead I played a bit with Morph Search. Does this help you along (until an expert drops by)?

For the nouns, it's lemma:διά BEFORE 1-5 WORDS @NA for the adjectives lemma:διά BEFORE 1-5 WORDS @JA - the limit to five words is just a guess.

Hi Philip.

When you make a new syntax search document (Documents -> Syntax Search) look to the list of templates on the right. One of the options is "Prepositional Object". This template will take care of the structure, you just need to fill in details like the lemma for the preposition (the 'Terminal Node') and the part of speech and case for the object ("Word 1"). Here's the query (left) which returns 128 results, the start of them (listed at right). Note I did this in L6, but it should work just fine in L5.
