Verbum upgrade prices seem off after CPU core maintenance

See the attached prices. They seem odd as I have L5 Verbum Basic, L5 Verbum Foundations+, Post-Reformation Catholic Thought and Piety Collection, Mariology Collection, Raymond E. Brown Collection (5 vols.), plus a whole lot of else such as L4 Original Languages Library. I have no L5-L6 crossgrades. Not that I'm upgrading anyway. L6 seems slower to start than L5, and in case I would upgrade I would install on a Pentium D desktop with S-ATA II interface and (S-ATA III) SSD (I would later put the SSD in some other computer later on such as my newest laptop). Would be running 64-bit Win 8.1 on the Pentium D machine as I got an unused OEM license specific for that cheap. Also the Pentium D machine has limited RAM: 3 GB, would it be worthwhile to upgrade that (would cost some) if I wouldn't be running much else at the same time? Does L6 benefit a lot from added RAM?:

If you have a 64-bit machine you would need much more than 3 GB to benefit from 64-bit software e.g. Logos 6. If it is a 32-bit machine you can't run 64-bit Windows but you get 32-bit Logos which may be Ok with 3 GB.

I would suggest that the pricing you see really reflects the content differences between what you have currently and what is being offered in the new base packages, if that makes sense. The new base packages have new data sets and different resources. The prices are not associated with the free L6 runtime engine that will be available later.

I have to admit that I get a little confused when you are describing what you have for your individual versions of hardware. I understand clearly the terminology you use but get lost on which is part of which, again if that makes sense.

My subjective experience between L5 and L6 in the same scenarios of cold starts versus restarts of the L6 application load and time to Home Page lead me to think that there is a performance improvement in L6.

The choice is really whether the additional resources in L6 base packages make sense for you. I chose to upgrade to an L6 base package (Verbum Capstone+ to Verbum Capstone 6). I can certainly recommend the L6 engine.

clarifications: in the OP I'm talking just about one computer, my oldest desktop. It has a S-ATA II interface. The SSD is S-ATA III so I can later on put in any other computer instead, if it lasts that long (I don't actually have any computers with S-ATA III interface). He is right in that more ram will result in better utilization of the 64 bit code.

I tried to have a brief look at the same base-package but L6 instead of L5 as I purchased and kept last time (Verbum Foundations+), but couldn't find much more added than the NABRE, The Lives of the Church Fathers, a few apologetics and spirituality titles which perhaps would never read. Is there any valuable functionality added at that level? The upgrade is $90 something.
