INSTALLATION FAILURE - Help!

I successfully installed Verbum 6 on my desktop (Win 7) two days ago. I am now trying to install Verbum 6 on my laptop (Win 8.1) and am experiencing a failure right at the start. When I click on the Verbum icon on the task bar here is what happens:
1. Verbum tells me an update is ready. Do you want to install it? (I click "Yes")
2. An installation process seems to extract a file.
3. A Microsoft .NET Framework installation window pops up.
4. The process stalls/dies within a minute or less. I left it run all night and it was still in the same spot.
5. I opened Task Manager and noticed that the Setup Installation process was not using any CPU, very little memory (<1MB), and no disk.
6. I killed the process. and received the following error.
7. When I look in Windows Update History I am seeing several updates to Microsoft .NET 3.5 and 4.5 going back at least to February of this year, maybe further. This leads me to believe that I have the current .NET Framework already on the Laptop.
I can duplicate the process on demand.
Can anyone give me a hand?

Sorry for the confusion! I passed your comment on to our customer service team, and someone should be with you soon. Thanks for your patience!

Have you rebooted then retried the installation?
That has fixed problems with installing .NET 4.5.2 for other customers.
