PBB Lectionary question
Is it possible to insert milestones according to Lectionary year and reading rather than date? For example, "Year A, Proper 27" rather than "November 9, 2014"? If so, what is the format of the milestone and what is the best technique?
Further, is there a way to then add milestones for first, second and gospel readings?

There isn't at the moment but Logos has assured me that they are working on it. I don't know with any certainty the format they will use for the milestones. I'm fairly confident that any such system will include liturgical date, service and reading codes. I suspect that I am going to also use some labels to customize the information further. Because labels are in Note files, I believe these can be shared - now for Logos resources, eventually for PB's.
The official structure of a lectionary includes an index section where entries are labelled simply "Year A, Proper 27" rather than with a secular date. You can see this by clicking "index" on the displayed entry of any Logos-supplied lectionary. I am hoping that index-only lectionaries will work for historical lectionaries ... the last time I tried there was a small modification required for the Search for this to function as desired.

You can add milestones for a liturgical occasion. For example, [[@RCLCalendar:Proper 27 Sun A]] will add a milestone for Proper 27, Sunday, Year A for the RCL calendar. Currently the RCL, 1979 Episcopal BCP and Latin-rite Catholic calendars are supported.
However, for the software to identify the correct liturgical occasion(s) for a particular secular calendar date (so that it will appear on the homepage, etc.), the lectionary also has to align the liturgical occasions to the secular calendar using YearMonthDay milestones.

How does this new tag work in a library? Are RCL-based resources now tagged with the correct lectionary milestones? Can a library be searched for all resources that reference a particular lectionary date? Can this be used in notes or other documents?

Louis are the calendar dates documented somewhere? I looked at the video https://www.logos.com/training/logos5/pbb-dtext and it describes how to add tags but not the details of what the tags should be. For instance how do you format the first Sunday of Advent? Advent1? Or Transfiguation Sunday or Maundy Thursday or the 15th Sunday of ordinary time? A complete list of dates for the lectionary and how to tag them would be extremely helpful!

So far, we just have RCL milestones in the RCL-based lectionary resources (RCL, RCL Daily, United Methodist RCL, LCR [Spanish]), but we'll be updating other resources like Feasting on the Word to add them.
It functions like other data types. So you can search for references and milestones (though you won't find much yet). Notes can be attached to references, links and milestones can be inserted in Personal Books, etc.
(One thing we do not yet support is automatic conversion between calendars, so RCL-based resources yet work together with BCP79 or Catholic-based resources.)

Right now, the easiest way to learn how to format references is to open the lectionary resource, set the active index box to display the liturgical occasion instead of the secular calendar date and then navigate to day you want.
Most occasions are in format: "season, week, day-of-week, cycle-year". E.g. "Advent, Week 3, Sunday, Year A" (or "Adv 3 Sun A" for short). Note that for the RCL, we've used the "Proper" numbering rather than the "Ordinary Time" numbering.
Other occasions are usually just in the form "title-of-day, cycle-year [if applicable]". E.g., "Transfiguration, Year A". We've tried to support common variant names for occasions, so "Maundy Thursday" and "Holy Thursday" both work.

I'm having trouble setting up RCL milestones in my sermon file. Can you point out what I'm doing wrong? I put links to the RCL entry for each day at the start of each sermon's body, but I'd like to use the milestones, too. Here's an example of what I tried, that didn't work:

I copied this into a Word document and built it, and the milestone seems to be getting inserted properly--the RCL calender reference shows up as an option in the active index box, and I can put it in a link set with the RCL lectionary. Can you be more specific about what's not working for you?

You know what, I think I was running into issues with OneDrive not syncing correctly. When I looked carefully at the book Logos built, it didn't have any of the changes I made to it yesterday. [^o)] I was only looking for the milestone change, and it just made sense that I was doing that wrong. Didn't occur to me that it was my software and not me being the numbskull!
Thanks for confirming this will work and that I was tagging things correctly! I'm now going to try to whip OneDrive into shape.
