Update after DVD install

Hi there,

I just installed Logos 4 and I have 4.0a ... after installing with the DVD it still wants to download a 2.18 GB file. Is this normal? Bandwidth is expensive in South Africa and if I could I would like to avoid such a big download.

the download is updates to books and resources. You can avoid the download by turning off your internet in the settings menu.

Users from SA and Australia (especially), as well as other places with download caps, are struggling with the download requirements of L4. You're not alone.

The Problem: If you have the 4.0a engine and 4.0 SR-7 books, you could have some issues with some resources and some functionality. Resources and the Logos engine are more closely tied in L4 than in L3.

Whether you choose to download or not, is up to you. But if you find you're having unexpected results, it may be the mis-match.

You can probably expect multi-MB downloads regularly for the next few months as new resources are finished, and new functionality is added, along with current resources being 'tweaked' to work better with the L4 system.

Hi Thomas

Only picked up your post now. I am also in SA (Pretoria) and understand your predicament. Initially I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the downloads. Like yourself, I then ordered the DVD but it still required some 3Gigs. I am fortunate in that I have access to Corporate bandwidth so that was sorted out relatively easy.

I was wondering if we should start a seperate forum mainly for us South Africans and possibly we could address our unique problems.
