since I got the latest download of 750 MB my Logos isn't working right . Is anyone else having this problem?
Can you be more specific about what problems you are having?
Did you get SR-2? There was a bug for Dec. 31st that has been causing a lot of problems today until people updated.
My Logos 3 and 4 will not search like it did it goes to my content and thats all. Logos 3 won't do it either.
Yes there is a problem with 4.0a SR-1.
Try to open L4 by holding down the CTRL key as Logos4 loads, then choose to open to a blank layout. Can you do that?
If so check your version by clicking the question mark in the upper right (next to Layouts) and if you do not see 4.0a SR-2 then update by typing update now in your command bar.
EDIT: Oops I forgot a step to check the version. After clicking the question mark, click "About Logos Bible Software."
Thank you I'll try that I'm a newbie so appreciate your help
I do have Logos 4oa sr2 So I 've got the update.
I've got Logos 4oa sr2 so i"ve got the update.
What search were you attempting? Does it work now that you have updated to SR-2?
Okay, good.
Now is Logos4 still indexing. How to tell: a blue icon (with a white cross and hourglass) will appear in your system tray. Hovering the mouse over the icon will tell you if Logos4 is downloading, indexing, or waiting to install. Are you still indexing, or did you cancel indexing?
Search problems are almost always caused by indexing being incomplete, or faulty.
When I type in Mat. 3 It searches all books with the name Mathew.
Yes it indexed 3 times for I had 2 downloads.
Would it help to turn computer off and start over.
Mark, I think you want to make sure you are selecting Bible Search, instead of Basic Search.
See attached image
when I go to Bible search it says 0 searchs in 2 sec.
If you are trying to find every instance where Matthew 3 is referenced in your library try <bible = Matthew 3> in a Basic search
If that does not work, go to basic search and pick a random word, like "substantial" and do a full library search. Does it come back with relevant search results? If not, then perhaps your index is corrupt. If so, type "rebuild index" in the command line and try again after it is finished.
I tried rebuild index and it didn't work, the new download has crashed my search in Logos 4.
Hang in there Mark, we're not sure what is happening with the latest downloads and SR-2.
Guess what Logos fixed problem then sent new download yesterday and now everything broke again what is going on?
Mark,
Anytime a software product has major performance problems, it may pay to uninstall from "Add/Remove Programs" under Control Panel, remove all directories, Logos4 is in Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data, open registry with "Regedit" and under "Software" under HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE delete the software name.
Then do a clean install. That is for Windows XP SP3. It is probably different for Windows 7.
