when I use the mobile app for some reason the chapter and verse numbers are not listed it is just text. I don't remember changing this setting. Does anyone know how to change it back?

Assuming you are using the latest version of the app try turning off "Bible Text Only" - accessible under "View Settings" the "Aa" at the top of a resource.
