Bug: Audio Problem in Resource "That's Easy For You To Say..."
I often refer to this resource while reading and recently, (after installation of 6.4; not blaming, just saying), I have come across this disturbing anomaly that when I click the speaker icon to listen to the pronunciation of a word the resource audibly states the word as it should but if I click on the same word's speaker icon a second time the resource repeats the word twice, if I click on the icon again it will repeat the word three times, and on and on to no limit that I can see. This is frustrating; if I am in a study and I come across a word that I haven't heard pronounced for some time and yet it is a word that I have clicked on numerous times in past studies, then one single click on the icon could start off an endless repetition of the word depending on how many times the icon for that word has been clicked on in the past. Closing Logos and shutting down the computer is no remedy. The resource persistently remembers how many times the word's speaker icon has been clicked on in the past and a new click will only add to the list of audible repeats.
In the past this was never a problem; one click, one utterance of the word. It's just an annoyance and definitely not the way it used to be.
I experience this problem with this resource now on my desk top, lap top, and Surface Pro 3 tablet. I am running Logos 6.4 PC version on all devices.
Any acknowledgement or feedback greatly appreciated.
In Christ,
Gary
Comments
- Close Logos
- Right Click on your Desktop Logos Icon
- Select Open File Location
- Double Click on Data
- Open the randomly named folder
- Delete the WebCache folder
Sorry about this, the fix will prevent it from getting worse. In order to resolve the issue we would need to clear the WebCache folder. To do this, please follow the below steps:
The only downside is that this will remove any downloaded media from the computer. If you have intentionally downloaded videos or audio files previously, they would need to be downloaded again.
Hi Steve,
Just wanted to run this by you before starting this project. If I were to hide the resource in question, then close Logos and even maybe reboot my computer, then launch Logos and unhide the resource (which I believe requires the resource to be re-downloaded again from the Logos servers), is it possible that this process would resolve the issue? Just grabbing at straws before searching for files to delete.
I'll await your response before trying; this is not a major problem.
Thanks,
Gary
