Why are some "works cited" not hyperlinked?

In the screenshot below there are two references to the same work - and that is understandable as they are referenced differently in Paul and the Faithfulness of God

But one is hyperlinked and the other is not - and there are a range of other works which aren't hyperlinked either

Any ideas why?

Non-hyperlinked resources are occurrences of bibliographic popups, rather than links to a specific resource.

They usually occur because (a) The resource doesn't exist in Logos, or (b) the author is referencing the book as a whole, rather than a specific part of the book.

It would be nice if they could be intelligently merged when the same book is being referenced in these two different ways.

Mark is correct.

It would be nice if they could be intelligently merged when the same book is being referenced in these two different ways.

We are working on improving the connection between bibliographic citations and the resources in our system.
