RESOLVED: Bug? Right-click now selects whole verse in ESV

After the last update to Logos 6.5 (6.5.0.0027), when right-click a word in the ESV, the software selects the entire verse instead of just the word. This does not happen in other versions such as NIV.

I can select a word with the mouse, but when I right-click the selection changes to the whole verse. Despite this, the lemma for the right-clicked word still shows correctly.

I'm on Windows 10 (64-bit). Program Setttings | Text Selection is set to "Character". There is no indication of indexing, and I have restarted Logos. Not desperate, but quite odd.

This seems to have resolved itself: when I selected the Hebrew lemma offered by the right-click, the selection of ESV text shrunk to that word. It's stayed that way since. Must have been something odd (a sticky key on the keyboard?), though I don't know why it happened with just one translation.

This very much depends on what is selected in the right-hand part of the menu.

    See examples below

You're right, Graham. I probably did have "sentence" selected. My error.

I'm having the same problem. It used to be that if I right clicked on a specific word, Logos took me to a word study of that word and I could easily get to the Greek or Hebrew word behind the English translation.  Now every time I right click, it grabs the entire verse and sends to the passage guide. In the past there were times I wanted to go to the passage guide and found it difficult to get there. Now I find it nearly impossible to get to the Word Study. Any advice? I don't know how Graham Criddle got to the three different examples shown here.

It's better to start a new thread rather than add to a thread that is 8 years old in a software that no longer is supported. Check two things:

    1. on the right click menu check what is highlighted on the left (tab side) ... this was the right side on the screens above as the software was very old.

    2. in the program settings (last icon on the tool bar) under Text Display what do you have Text selection set to?

Hi Richard - and welcome to the forums

I think its still about what you have selected in the context menu - and this selection is now done on the left as opposed to the right

In the screenshot below I right-clicked the word name and then chose the Reference option on the left. This picks up the entire verse and so that is highlighted - and you get the Passage Guide option on the right

But if I select the lemma option on the left then just the single word is selected and the BWS guide option is available on the right

    Does this help at all?
