That is very strange. I just tried to duplicate it on Windows 10 Verbum and Mac Verbum and it works perfectly.
I have seen places in Verbum where the cursor does not blink to show a field is ready to be edited - I didn't see you do this in the video - did you actually try and start typing a name when you right clicked and selected Rename, even though it does not give you any evidence it is ready to be edited?

Could not duplicate either your or Don's results. When I created a new folder and selected Rename from the right click menu, everything worked correctly.
