If a donkey is an ass, why isn't Balaam's donkey tagged as one (apart from Num 22:21)?

Entities are tagged with the most specific tag. We don't tag Peter with <Person A Man> even though he is a man.
In some cases, we do add a more general tag along with the specific tag to make searching easier. This seems like a reasonable case for that.

We have "Balaam's donkey" because of the familiar story, but that makes its omission as a "donkey" all the more noticeable. I wonder if it should be <Thing Donkey> instead of <Thing Ass>...
