Biblical Places: Cannot measure distances

I hold down control and drag my mouse from one dot to another. Still no measurement. Using an HP G71 340us, and the latest service release. What am I doing wrong?

Lynden,
It works on my system with L4 version 4.0aSr3. I found early on that the distance measurement only works on the newer Logos maps made for L4. It does not work on maps from other resources (i.e. Holman Bible Atlas, older Logos map sets, etc). Also, are you holding the Ctrl key down and dragging with the left mouse button down?

Thanks Steve. I was not holding down the left mouse button. That made the difference.

Cool! I didn't know about this feature yet. I learn something new every day!

Lynden, glad that it is working for you!
Rosie, i saw this early on in one of the Logos videos. In the beginning L4 would draw a bold line where you dragged. Now it draws a circle (radius). I wish that we had the ability to do either, the circle distracts from the map when i screen capture and paste it into a document for others.

Maybe you could do the screen capture without the distance measuring graphic, then measure the distance yourself and manually mark up the screen capture in SnagIt with a radius line and the distance in a balloon; that way you can customize the colors and font and line thickness and drop-shadows to your heart's content.

Yes, i could do all that. But in the original method, it was far easier. Below is an image that i used in November before they changed the tool. It required no additional editing and was clear to those in my Bible study group what i was trying to express.
Thanks for the suggestion !

I'm with steve...I like both and would like to have a "toggle switch" for that feature.
and since we're at it...how about a few different types and thickness' of arrows?
how about chain-measuring? (measure #1 stays on the screen, while you measure #2 etc...)
