Footnotes with visual filters

I have started make VF's for books such as The Forgotten trinity- what I have noticed that using VF's the words you are marking such as God, Jesus Holy Spirit, etc. if they are in a footnote that that footnote will have multiple or single markups- is this expected.

Sorry - I don't understand.

I have tried to emulate what I think you are describing - creating a VF that searches for the word seal in a commentary as below

As expected, the footnote number is highlighted

Please provide some more details - ideally with screenshots
