Anchor Bible Dictionary
Hi Folks, can anyone help me? I have a CD-ROM of The Anchor Bible Dictionary European Edition dated 1997. I use it a lot. I installed it successfully on my Windows 7 laptop a couple of years ago, but I have since acquired a Windows 8.1 computer, which refuses to install it. I have tried the Microsoft website and explored compatibility fixes, but nothing works (thank you for taking me round and round in ever-decreasing circles Microsoft!)
I paid a lot of money (in those days) for the CD-ROM, so am reluctant to pay again for a compatible version. Any helpful advice or solutions would be welcomed. Many thanks, Clifford Wilton (UK).

Download Logos 6 and log in with the same information you used before. I it will automatically be set up. If you didn't set up an account before, call Customer Service and they will attach it to an account for you.

Wait a minute! CD-ROM Libronix/Logos or some other type of format? (since you didn't specify). If it's a Libronix/Logos format, you can reactivate it following the steps just mentioned

The only CDROM editions of Anchor I am aware of were produced by Logos and Accordance... but I am 100% sure he is using the libronix one, because the Accordance one of that time frame was macintosh only.

Thank you Justin. I have done as you suggest, including adding the free books - great! But I still can't get my Anchor Bible CD-ROM to work. I have emailed technical support, and hope they can help. Cliff.

Thanks Dal. The CD-ROM is LOGOS format. When you say I can "reactivate it following the steps just mentioned", did you mean the steps suggested by Justin, or have I missed a post? If the former, no need to reply! CD-ROM still won't work, but I have contacted Technical Help for their advice. Thanks to all for your really swift responses. Blessings, Cliff.

Sorry for the confusion Cliff. Your CD won't work, but Customer Support should bring the Anchor Yale Dictionary into the Logos software, so you can read it in the same program as the free books.
