indexing

Both of my computers have handled L4 OK.

One is a netbook. A little slow, but with 2G ram, XP, OK

The other is a Dell 1520 3G ram 250 G harddrive Core 2 Duo T7500 @ 2.20GHz 32 bit XP, faster but still slow in a few areas.

The indexing on both has been slow but always worked, first time.

I got the WALK series a couple days ago and decided to index both machines tonight. This series (5 books) was the only books that had not been indexed.

Both machines index process failed. Twice.

Current 4.0a SR-3 (4.01.3.5180)

Any thoughts?

There have been a lot of index failures and we need to see some logs.

This one seems to show that the program loaded successfully. There is another one generated by the indexer. It is named Logos4Indexer.log. If you have one of those, please zip that and attach it. Thanks.

The date of this file was 12/31/2009.

It was the only index log there.

Oh Ohh, I should have been more specific...

It is the 'Merge Index' function that will not work.

L4 downloaded book Christ's Church this morning. The download and the indexing went as it should have, no problems.

However when I try to 'Merge Index's' , L4 begins and works about 10-15 minutes, then fails.

The box appears that asks if I want to send a report to Microsoft about the error, I looked through the report but there was no way to copy or send it anywhere else except where it was going, Microsoft.

I looked in the folder that holds the two reports I previously posted here, and there was no indexlog there for this date, just the one I already posted.

Any thoughts?

Your main index is probably corrupted, so it can't be merged with a new supplemental index. Instead, you can build a new index with the command "Rebuild Index"

No, it was caused by a bug in an earlier release.
