TIP of the day: from the blogs: Confessional Bible Study and Logos

Denominational confessions are foundational to the theology and distinctive attributes of a denomination. Therefore they are often used in faith formation especially with, but not limited to, teens or new members. This means that a number of pastors and lay leaders have to study and prepare to teach the confessions. It would be very useful to have a Confessional Document Guide with at least the following sections:

  • related passages
  • commentaries - set of commentaries keyed to the confession
  • sermons
  • (future addition as it may require new tagging) topics
  • (future addition) Systematic Theologies based on topic.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
