Feasting on the Gospels: Matthew (2 vols.)

The is part of the supplemental materials for Feasting on the Word - which someone has been complaining is incomplete Wink We need to get this through to have some other pieces also become available. Note this is on the Gospel and while compatible with a lectionary it does not assume that you use one.

I truly do not want to be thought of as only complaining. I have my pre pub in on this one. I do wish we could get the lection essays not covered in the print edition that are done. This is an exciting offer because this is not merely filling in the gaps but as I understand it offering a whole new set focusing just on the gospel. So you could read FOW and then get 4 whole new treatments on the same passage in FOG.

No, you are neither a complainer nor the only one who wants this to make it. And I will admit to being more interested in the rest of the RCL OT cycle ... but I do think this has wider appeal than the lectionary version but many seeing the title wouldn't know that.

Thanks for this post. I wasn't aware of this resource until now. I use FOW frequently. This will be a good supplement to it.

Edit: For all you Matthew fans out there, the Anchor Yale Bible will soon have a new Matthew commentary out by John Meier. He wrote a commentary on Matthew for a series put out by Michael Glazier back in the early 80's which was quite good. I look forward to this AYB one.
