Panel linking now available

Panel linking is now available, accessible through the display settings menu (the "Link Set" option)

On the classic resource display:

And on the experimental display:

Known issues:

With the experimental display, panels are synchronized only when the active panel/tab (indicated by the orange line above the tab title) is scrolled, and might not immediately synchronize when added to a link set (you may have to scroll a bit before they sync up).

I am not getting panel linking to work

I have the LEB and Na28 in different panels with both on "A"

If I scroll the primary panel, no linking occurs.

Any ideas?

Which browser are you using on which platform?

It's partially working for me. But in experimental display mode - scrolling LEB scrolls NA28 but scrolling NA28 doesn't scroll LEB

Is it possible that when you scroll the NA28 it is not the active panel? Only when the active panel is scrolled does the linking occur. In classic display scrolling in a panel makes it active, while in the experimental display scrolling does not make it active. Try clicking on the panel before you scroll in it, and see if it works.

Yes, I am trying to scroll the active pane.

I have done some further testing and find that I get a very different result depending on the browser I use.

If I use Safari on the Mac, the scroll linking is erratic. Or it doesn't work at all.

However, if I use Chrome on the Mac, it seems to work properly.

Also, scroll linking doesn't seem to work Safari on my iPad.

And, Chrome on my iPad seems to really have a problem with even loading the separate panes correctly.

We've deployed a fix for panel linking not always lining up. Please let us know if you're still seeing this issue.

But, sometimes, if scrolling quickly the "tracking" resource seems to get to the correct point and then go backwards

Using Chrome on Windows 10 this doesn't work. I have ESV and NAC open. I linked them both using letter A. However when I go from reference to reference in ESV it doesn't move between NAC volumes. It only moves within that volume of NAC. So if I'm in Amos in ESV nad have Amos NAC open it works. If I then move to Galatians it doesn't open the Galatians volume of NAC.

We do not yet support shifting between different volumes of a commentary set in a single panel, which is what prevents this from working.

We'll make an announcement when we add that feature, at which point panel linking should start working as expected in this scenario.

I use multi-volume works a lot.

This would be a great feature to implement.
