Looking for info regarding a symbol in the Faithlife Study Bible

At various places in the FSB, a grayed out symbol (three sided box with a right arrow) appears in the text?

In the screen capture below, the symbol appears three times (1st, 2nd, and 5th lines). Nothings happens if hovering over or left clicking any occurrence of the symbol, however right clicking on any occurrence of the symbol highlights everything (text, charts, pics) that pertain to the scripture passage in question and opens a pop-up window with various options.

I checked the TOC for the FSB to see if there was an explanation for the various symbols used in the text, but didn't find anything about it regarding it's name, purpose, or how to use it. Does this symbol have a name? Is it's sole purpose to serve as a right-click shortcut to highlight all info related to the scripture passage and open the pop-up window?

I believe that icon just indicates that the link goes to a different resource rather than changing to a different location in the FSB or showing a popup.

There is no custom behavior for right clicking on the icon. It behaves just the same as clicking on no text at all. For comparison, try right clicking in the blank space at the end of the paragraph (to the right of "see v. 1 and note").

I always thought that it was meant to indicate links to LBD - would be very surprised if such a link went to another book or website (and noting that the only link not going to LBD that I found in a quick glance-over went to Eusebius in NPNF and had no such icon - but maybe it was a datatype link, not a resource link, and thus treated like a bible reference).

The icon described above indicates a link to LBD.

The first two inline links in the screenshot go to articles in Lexham Bible Dictionary (LBD); the last one ("Second Temple period") is a glossary term. All other links (outside of Bible references, ancient works, and links to other notes) follow the prose in bullet list style.

I think NB.Mick and John D.Barry are correct in stating the symbol simply indicates that the link (in blue) preceding the symbol, is a link to the LBD--at least that was the case in every one of the 20 or so links I checked when that symbol followed the link. What I don't understand is "why" the symbol is even there. Hovering over the actual link that precedes the symbol provides a pop-up window with the pertinent linkage text and also indicates the link is to the LBD, so the symbol itself does nothing but clutter up the screen and interfere with the reading flow of the main text.

Another thing that I think added to my confusion, is that other symbols (like the circle with a "+" in it and the circle with a "-" in it), do respond when left clicking on them even though they have exactly the same grayed out look as the box and arrow symbol that don't do anything.

I'd like to see two changes to the FSB.

Eliminate the symbol of the three-sided box with the right arrow. (It serves no useful purpose and interferes with the reading flow.)
Provide a list of symbols used in the resource and explain what they do.

I hadn't really used the FSB before at all, but had found the LBD very helpful a few times. One of DAL's comments in another thread got me looking at the FSB and made me realize I had been failing to utilize what appears to be a very nice resource. [:)]

On further reflection, I think I may have come across to strong in saying the box-and-arrow symbol serves no purpose in the main text. I suppose for those who like to "click" on links rather than "hover" over them, but they don't want to activate any links that take them outside of the FSB, it would help them in that regard. But it would be my preference to be able to exclude the symbol, perhaps via making it one of the filter options.
