Change in base packages with Logos 7

As I am looking at my resource spending for coming months, I have a question. Since the general consensus seems to be that we can expect Logos 7 sometime this fall, should we expect to see great changes in the makeup of the base packages. I know that was the case when Logos 6 came out, but I am wondering if that normally happens each time a new version comes out or do the base packages typically stay largely the same through multiple versions?

Yes. The primary source of income for FL is the sale of base packages. If they stayed the same, there would be no need to buy one.

I hope Faithlife reworks the base packages. That is where I get my best value for the dollar.

Since the general consensus seems to be that we can expect Logos 7 sometime this fall, should we expect to see great changes in the makeup of the base packages.

Without commenting on any of the others, I would expect significant changes in the Anglican, Catholic, and Eastern Orthodox base packages. A real part of these changes will come from the massive increase in patristic materials since the release of Logos/Verbum 6. Anglican Portfolio's impressive array of new ECF publications will likely trickle down into lower level Anglican packages, and the entire Verbum lineup should benefit substantially. Verbum 6's packages changed very little in terms of content from Verbum 5--the content was mostly reshuffled, with additions and an extra level. This time, I expect that a number of volumes will depart from the base package lineup. In addition, since the Eastern Orthodox product lineup is relatively small, there is a statistically higher chance that any given new volume, especially in the public domain, will be found suitable for the next round of base packages.

In addition to the base packages, the topical bundles should also get a face-lift. I expect meaningful changes (at least) in the denominational studies bundles targeted toward groups that have acquired or expanded base package lineups since the initial release of Logos/Verbum 6, not to mention the Church Fathers, Church History, and Ancient Texts bundles, as well as the Philosophy and Apologetics bundles. (Philosophy and Apologetics really should be different bundle lines, and hopefully that will happen with the next release.) The Preaching and Sermons bundle lineup is also a good candidate for a refresher. There may also be new topical bundle lines, especially as inspired or assisted by Noet. These may include a Latin Studies bundle set and/or Medieval Studies bundles, both of which I would welcome and be happy to spend money on. I would be surprised not to see Methodist/Wesleyan, SDA, and Pentecostal/Charismatic bundles too.

Of course, all of this is speculation.

Hopefully they will bring back the Septuagint topical bundle.
