I always thought all those collections are more like wiki-style, where everyone can do whatever they want & not an official closed-system collections where people can't mess with them. I don't want regular joes to edit my stuffs, I want Logos to do them, that's why I'm paying for quality.

Plus, they need to be built-in inside Logos 7 and not on a group or something. Make it where it is easy for me to delete or add or search a collection within the software itself.

Currently Faithlife group followers or members need to visit a web page to copy collection into their own library => https://faithlife.com/logos-collections/documents so a Logos 7 suggestion would allow document list to appear in Logos or Verbum for copying or updating.

Once document(s) have been copied into your library, the document(s) can only be modified by you. Optional is visiting web page later to see if any document(s) have been updated and choose to update your document copy to match published update.

Plus, they need to be built-in inside Logos 7 and not on a group or something.

Verbum has three built-in collections:

Three collections appear in Logos after using command "Set Verbum to Yes"; the rules for these built-in collections are maintained by Faithlife.

Make it where it is easy for me to delete or add or search a collection within the software itself.

Thankful for dynamic collection option for searching; please describe what would be easier.

If want to search resources, which have subject that includes apologetics, can open Basic Search for Everything, then click Everything followed by entering Library filter:

subj:apologetics

Clicking number of resources restricts search to list of resources without using a collection.

(1) I want to second alabama's plea for projects. Layouts are a weird compromise measure which satisfies no one.

(3) The ability to print the inline reverse interlinear. When preparing, I still print out my text with triple spacing and wide margins. I would really like to be able to do that with the reverse interlinear (copying and pasting gives a weird table, which makes controlling spacing very strange).

(4) To get me to actually use them: Make Community Notes more like regular notes.I want to open all of the community notes in a certain group as a note in the software, instead of that awkward side bar. Where then I can have a certain group open, right click and add rich text. Unlike a shared document, which has to be redownloaded, etc, my additions will automatically sync to everyone else's document.

I'd like to have check boxes in the notes documents for each individual note. This would allow us to select several notes and then bulk move, copy, delete, tag etc. our notes. Just something that would greatly improve the quality of the notes documents.

My two highest priority UserVoice suggestions both relate to excessively bright color shades of a majority of Bible book cover icons (e.g., ESV, LEB) which were implemented with the introduction of Logos 6 and which in my opinion are a distraction from reading the Bible text and continue to cause me uncomfortable eye strain. The two suggestions (see links below) address this same issue but in different ways, presenting different potential solutions:

My wishlist for Logos 7 is:

The ability to search for links (so I could find all the times a particular book, or a particular page range of book is referenced in other resources).
The ability to search within Headwords/LCV entries, just as we can search within Milestones (so I could search all the articles on a specific topic for a particular word/reference).
A revamped prioritisation tool that isn't restricted to a tiny column within my library, and can better handle long prioritisation lists.
The addition of a proper NOT operator in search (so you could do searches like Holy NOT(BEFORE 1 WORD Spirit). Currently we have to do Holy ANDNOT "Holy Spirit", which isn't the same thing).
More intelligent search ranking, perhaps that factors in consideration how highly I have rated a book. The current system favours resources with very short articles, which is often very unhelpful.
The ability to create collections from resource traits.

My call is on October/November release.

My suggestions are:

Have a build-in pdf/epub/mobi converter.

I definitely think its time to further enhance the PB feature.

The ability to import documents of multiple types (maybe calibre will shareware with you), the ability to play videos, and audio from within the pb without launching an external player (you guys DO have some sort of player software builtin already for mobile ed).

I have probably a thousand documents that I would love to import en-masse. that would be a nice feature as well. for title, authors name (etc) it could read the meta-data.

Further and for some backstage enhancements, you could generate a hash of each PB you host, and if my file matches MJ's - then there is no sense in hosting two copies on your servers. I suspect ALOT of the material people use as PB's comes from similar sources (eg the forum), so if 5000 people all have the same 9mb file, it makes more sense to host it once, rather than 5000 times.

Since logos is only looking at a hash of a file, it can't know whether the file is "honest" or not shielding faithlife. It maintains a users privacy because again, FL doesn't know anything beyond that these two files have the same hash.

Making notes can use a lot of repeated words and phrases. What if Logos provided a text-expander option so that users could enter their own shortcuts for words and phrases that they use regularly? This could speed up the process of entering notes.

I would like to see a "Search Wizard" where you answer simple questions about the type of search and what you are looking for and where. the Wizard then constructs it and launches it for you.

Also I would like to see Personal Books accepted when in searchable PDF format without conversion to docx.

Auto spell check on everything similar to google.

I already have TextExpander which works across all applications. I'm not sure I really want Faithlife trying to add this sort of functionality to Logos: it will make it more bloated, and I already have TextExpander set up to cover frequently-used phrases. If I'm using Textexpander it works in Word, Excel, my calendar, Logos, the forums in my browser and every other application on my Mac. I'd like to see Faithlife focusing on what it's good at, rather than making copies of other applications which they will then have to maintain and develop further.

Make pop-up windows for reference links large enough to display the entire reference--allow scrolling within the pop-up window if necessary.

I've always been frustrated by the small size of the pop up windows for reference links--especially scripture reference links. They're often too small to show the entire reference, even though there is plenty of room on the screen for a pop-up window that is large enough to show the entire reference. This often make checking a reference a three step process:

Hover over the link only to find the pop-up window is too small to display it all.
Click on the link to open the reference in another tab (which usually opens in a different pane.)
Click on the original resource tab that contained the link, so you can return to that resource.

It really interrupts the work-flow.

It's great, but it's the only thing I use that freeware for and think others would appreciate it in Logos 7.

Please elaborate on desire to search files OUTSIDE of Logos Bible Software. For search speed, Logos indexes words in library resources. Thankful for personal books that allow docx to be compiled for use in Logos Bible Software. Note: PDF format determines search-ability; pictures of text need conversion for digital searching.

Adding "Copy Bible Verses" to right click choices for Bible reference should be helpful:

Right Click menu has Copy, which copies Bible Verse(s) from Top preferred Bible to clipboard.

Currently can open Bible to reference followed by using keyboard shortcut to open Copy Bible Verses to that reference.

Im trying to organize my library into categories and have quickly realized that this will be a lifelong task, and my library is not as big as most users. I would love it if Logos pre-organized all books by subject, and then allowed the users to manually change that organization (or to never implement the Logos categorizing). This way a user would say, be able to open their library to the biography section, and see all given biographies on Martin Luther; or open their library to "theology > baptism" and see all their books on baptism. To categorize all our books in the favorites tool is the only way to do this currently, and for almost any user, in all seriousness, this could be a life long endeavor!

From a practical perspective, how do you expect the Faithlife subject tagging to differ from the already available subject metadata?

As far as I can tell, the subject metadata is only available on the website, and has no impact on the resources once they are in my library (tell me if I'm wrong because I'd love to use this data if it were accessible within Logos). But integration of the metadata from the website into the actual app would be excellent. As far as I'm concerned it would be best if the default library view was in these category folders. Instead of having this as the default, they could also simply add a separate way to view the library, much like the panel vs line item toggle view that exists now.

Interesting. At least on Mac, I think that would fall under a system "service."

The only thing I can add from KS4J's post is that not all PDF's are created equal. Many are essentially photographs, which require OCR software to convert them to "text." Good OCR software is expensive, and beyond the scope of Logos. If you have a PDF that is like a photograph, the feature you are hoping for wouldn't work.

I use Notes to journal on a daily basis. It would be interesting if Logos provided a Note format option that would facilitate daily journal entries. I envision twelve notes titled January through December. Each note would contain a sub heading for each day of that month.

Another feature would allow highlights to be sent to the current day's journal with a right click option. It would save going to "Copy Bible Verses" or going through the copy and paste rigmarole for interesting items from other resources.

With Logos, some days I just give up, instead, to find a passage more quickly, I type the keywords of a verse and google it.

Currently Bible Search only looks for word(s) in one numbered verse. Dreaming of Bible Search option to specify verse range for searching: e.g. 1, 2, 3, ... verses.

Something that has been a continuous source of frustration for me is that when hovering over scripture passage links, the pop-up box displayed:

May or may NOT contain the entire passage.
Does NOT indicate whether or not the entire passage is displayed.
Meaning the ONLY way to know for sure, is to click on the passage link, which changes the active tab!

Granted, if the link is for a single verse and hovering over the link only brings up a couple of lines in the pop-up box, you can assume/hope that the entire passage is being displayed. Likewise, if the link refers to a whole chapter or range of chapters, you can figure the entire passage is not being displayed. But... there are far too many times when your only option to know for sure, is to click on the passage link, which then requires re-establishing the tab you came from as the active tab.

Faithlife--please, please, please do at least one (preferably more than one) of the following.

Provide an option for larger pop-up windows so the window is more likely to contain the entire passage.
Provide a scroll bar in the pop-up window when the window is not large enough to show the entire passage.
Provide some kind of indicator in the pop-up window to inform the reader as to whether or not the entire passage is being displayed.

May or may NOT contain the entire passage.

Does NOT indicate whether or not the entire passage is displayed.

Meaning the ONLY way to know for sure, is to click on the passage link, which changes the active tab!

There is a much better way to workaround this...

As a bonus you get a quick text compare of your top 5 translations :-)

The first thing I noticed from your screen print was the ellipses after the last word in the pop-up window and I thought, "I wonder if he's using an Apple product?" It looks like you are, and if those ellipses are standard on the Apple version of Logos when the passage doesn't fit in the window, you at least have a visual to let you know there's more to it than what you're seeing. That doesn't happen on the Windows version.

I do appreciate the tip and will probably give it a go, but I rarely touch the keyboard as I use a mouse or track-pad for everything I can, so using the keyboard to hit the F7 key definitely alters my normal hand positioning. Another quirk I found--at least on the Windows version of Logos--is that after getting the pop-up window by using the F7 key, any attempt to use the mouse to scroll through the passage closes the window, so it seems the only way to scroll through the passage is to use the keyboard for that as well. [:(]

Even so, it's always nice to have options, so I'm grateful for your tip. [:)]

It's probably a little late, and probably (intentionally) not possible, but, I would love a little bit more freedom and control in creating a base package. For instance, if they said you have $500 in value to put towards maps, $400 towards theology, and $800 towards commentaries, and then give me (even a pre-selected) list to choose from. It would be even cooler to be able to buy more from one category and spend less in another.

I understand why they don't do this (for a couple of reasons, actually), and so I don't really expect it. But while I'm probably looking to upgrade in about a year (I'll finish seminary and let the price come down a bit), this would be HUGE for making me want to jump. I don't need "more" books - but I do need specific books. Shy of that, grad school has more or less given me the tools to do most study with or without logos. It makes it easier and faster, but the cost can be hard to justify.

FOLDER STRUCTURE for LAYOUTS

I would like to see a folder structure option in the layouts pop-up window. This would allow us to group layouts by categories (e.g. NT, OT, theological topics, Mobile Ed, etc.) and greatly reduce the amount of scrolling to find a layout.

I agree - just adding a few carefully selected choices would make upgrading to a higher-level base package much more attractive to me. For example, the Eerdmans Wesleyan Bible Commentary OR the Hebrew and Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament; the Journal of Biblical Literature OR the Complete Library of Christian Worship; or the Charles Spurgeon Collection OR the Life and Works of John Wesley. A few simple choices like that on big-ticket items would allow folks to tailor a package to their particular needs and interests.

I don't know if it's been suggested yet but I would like to see the Logos Now and/or Verbum Now subscription be included in a base package that away I would not have to pay additional payments for that in addition to an upgrade payment plan.

My first posting to this thread (see above) included links to two UserVoice site recommendations addressing excessively bright Bible book cover icons causing painful eye strain. One of these recommendations (https://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-6/suggestions/9117382-allow-users-to-add-their-own-bible-book-cover-icon) offered two potential solutions:

#1. Allow users to add their own book cover icons and to share the icons they add with other users.

#2. Allow users to individually switch to a generic grey book cover icon if they prefer (such as currently used for several clause visualization resources).

Earlier today I submitted a comment to this recommendation which added a third option:

#3: Allow users to hide the image of the Bible book cover icon and instead “show label” reflecting the Bible translation’s standard initials (ESV, LEB) as is currently available for shortcut icons within the Shortcuts Bar.

MJ, I have a couple of simple suggestions for Logos 7 ... both relate to the Library.

1. An additional column .... "when purchased". This would allow me to see which books I have added in the last year or so and have not got around to reading.

2. An additional column .... "Collections". I know I can do this through the Collections tool, but I would like to list a collection in the library and choose books from this smaller list.

Thirdly, being a font nut, I would like to be able to right click on a word on the screen and among the many options that are listed would be the typeface that Logos is using for that word.

Am I allowed to ask about having different colours for different languages? Sorry about that.

I would greatly appreciate an option in the program settings to provide a pop-up prompt when changing layouts, asking if I want the currently active layout to be updated before changing to the next/new layout.

I thank Graham for his suggestion to me. Exactly what I wanted.

So here is a suggestion to you. Use TOOLS/FAVOURITES. Make the directories you want and drag the LAYOUT from the layout list.

I have SHOW FAVOURIES (with star icon) on my top taskbar.
