Okay, now I'm REALLY Confused!

So I called FL.

Regarding my prioritization issue where all my books somehow wound up in prioritize, there was no answer, and I was told that the only way to get rid of them is one by one.

Regarding the fact that when I right click a word, say in NASB, and I go down to the option "lemma" (or any other option where I am supposed to have resources available) on the right hand side, and then scroll down on the left panel for the options, I was told that the books there are NOT meant to be my prioritized books. If they are not, then what's the point of prioritizing aside from their use in guides?

Regarding my option of five columns or show footnotes not appearing in the pull down menu when I click I book cover, I was told that it depends on where I click in the book. Well if they don't appear when I go to read it, when the heck are they supposed to appear?

She does NOT recommend I re-install, but says that it's pretty much a user problem. Okay, but tell me how so I can either START doing the right thing or STOP doing the wrong thing!

In order to evaluate what you are seeing, you'll have to provide some more information. Can you indicate a specific word in NASB that you are right-clicking on? Can you provide a screenshot of the resulting menu (showing the resources)? Can you provide screenshot(s) of your prioritization list? It would also be helpful to show a resource where you aren't seeing the column/footnote options, and where you are at in that resource.

I was told that it depends on where I click in the book.

That answer makes no sense for the Panel Menu ... it applies to the Context Menu. In the Panel Menu, the items listed are set at the resource level and grayed out when inappropriate.

I was told that the books there are NOT meant to be my prioritized books.

Strictly speaking they are Parallel resources but they always present mine base on priority ... yes I double checked by playing with priorities.

I agree, and I told her that in the past, I recall the right click feature giving me my preferred resources depending on what I click on. So if I click on say...the word "lovingkindness" then my prioritized dictionaries would come up on the bottom of the left side. Honestly, I will admit it's the first time I've called FL and walked away thinking she wasn't understanding what I was trying to say.

I already spent all that time trying to figure it out, and since I really didn't feel confident in what she said, I deleted my Logos and am in the middle of a reinstall. SOMETHING WAS FUNKY! I know that I'm a novice, but I'm not so ignorant as to fail to see something was not right and not ringing true. So...I recognize it will take the night to reinstall, index, etc., but I got it going and walked away from my office PC for the night...and I'm back to my MAC laptop.

It sounds like you were given some bad information, sorry.

When you right-click on a word and select lemma on the context menu, the five resources that are shown on the bottom of the left-hand side are your five highest-prioritized resources that have Greek headwords. You were correct: this is entirely the point of prioritizing. (Your priority order also controls the order in Power Lookup and the resource that is opened when you double-click that word in a Greek NT.)

Here's an example from the wiki of how the priority order controls the resources shown for a Bible reference: https://wiki.logos.com/Prioritizing#Prioritized_Order_in_the_Prioritize_panel

The principle is the same for any other data type (Strong's Number, Apostolic Fathers reference), lemmas, or word: Logos will find the top five resources that can be opened to that reference/headword based on your prioritization (falling back to system defaults if you haven't prioritized at least five resources that support that data type or language).

This is most likely because you have multiple resource turned on. Those options are not supported in that situation.

Nope! The only thing I had opened was my NASB. Literally NOTHING else. I even shut down and went back in. Same thing.

Yes. Years ago I watched Mark's videos on prioritizing, which is why I knew something was funky. I have prioritized resources for years. I think it must have had something to do with ALL MY BOOKS being in my prioritize panel a couple of days ago. I posted a thread about it but no one knew what to do, so I spent four hours (watched two movies), and one by one I deleted them. Then today I noticed the prioritize panel was funky in right click. Depending on what I clicked on in the right click panel, I would either get some or none of my actual prioritized resources. I don't know any technical terms, but here in the Feenstra home we call that WONKY! LOL

On my screen I had ONE book open...the NASB. I clicked the Bible icon and that was where I missing the columns and footnotes. Oh well, that's what I get for not taking a screen shot. [:)]

If you did have the multi-resource view checked and if the 2nd column was OT only for example, then if you were looking at a NT passage the 2nd column (resource) would be suppressed. Not suggesting that is what happened, just providing a scenario where you would not have seen a second resource.

Thanks MJ. Good to know. I didn't open the multi-resource view, but who know. Stranger things have happened.

Well, I'm up and running on my desktop again and all looks beautiful. My prioritized books are prioritized on my right click menu once again.
