Pastor Appreciation Month updates?

The Pastor Appreciation Month page hasn't been updated with any offerings for this year.

I saw that Accordance is offering an additional 20% off on top of their normal pastor discount.

I know that Logos offers base package discounts a few times a year, and has offered 15% off for previous Pastor Appreciation Months.

Just curious to know if any base package discounts are in the pipeline for this October (or Black Friday/November).

Just coincidentally, I was looking for 'real leather' for a Bible on Amazon. I found one by Holman ... a Minister's Bible (or somesuch). Anyway, the page happily pointed out it'd make a great pastor's appreciation month gift. How timely! I'm not sure, but Logos has very few real leather bound Bibles.

Content is starting to appear on the Pastor Appreciation Month page. It looks like the New Studies in Biblical Theology (NSBT) volumes will be discounted. (The NSBT collection already is a part of the special savings upgrade offers available once you add any base package to your cart, so it will be interesting to see how the discounts on Pastor Appreciation Month page compares to the special savings already offered.)

This is different scenario to what I was initially talking about in regards to the base packages. This is promoting the same product with two different price points at the same time.

You suggested that people would be upset if a later group of people got a better price than an earlier group, and I thought of the parable's laborers in the vineyard who were resentful that they weren't treated better than the ones who started work later.

I chose the example of two groups getting different pricing at the same time, to show how no one was upset about that situation, with the hope that it might demonstrate that people could be grateful, not resentful, should Logos choose to be more generous to October purchasers who come after us September purchasers.

Either way, there will be sales in the future, until the Lord returns.

I simply thank God, regardless of the price I paid, because FL has provided me with courses to learn and grow at this time of my life, when returning to school is not possible.

You continue to miss what I am saying. My comment was not about two different groups of people comparing what price each one was offered. I am talking about the same customer seeing a better price being offered shortly after they have already purchased. It will result in customers being disgruntled and it will result in some making use of the 30 day refund policy to get their money back in order to re-purchase at the cheaper price. I work in a national retail business which operates some of its stores in two different countrie. I have been in this industry for almost 30 years, and some of the things FL does goes against the policies of the company I work for, a secular company. Customers are customers no matter what you are selling, even Bible Software and e-books that work with it. There don't like to feel as though they have not gotten the best deal. This is not a matter to be passed off by spiritualizing it. It's basic customer relationship management.

We are both coming at these from different points of origin and reality is FL will do whatever they think is appropriate regardless of either of our views.

I think though we can both happily agree of the value of the software to us as individals.

And how would you prevent that from happening? Doesn't it happen all the time when stuff goes on sale?

If someone purchased the New Covenant Commentary on Romans 30 days ago for $27, they could return it today, and re-purchase it for free. If someone else bought it 31 days ago, that would no longer be possible.

I can see why that "someone else" might want to kick their own bottom now, but that's just how things work.

Can your employer afford to give the best deal to everyone...?

You're right, I did not think that people would return an item to repurchase the same item at a different price, although seems to move the topic into a moral/ethical area.

If you were previously happy with the price you paid, and the price dropped, should you then become unhappy about the purchase?

Is it honest to return something that you're going to buy again? The merchant is left with an open box item, and it affects their profit since they can't resell that item as new.

I would think that if the merchant does offer some form of price protection, it would be better for both parties to handle it as a credit for the difference, rather than the customer trying to return one item, then buying another of the same item.

But I still would like to think that a Christian would be convicted, if something was not righteous.

After the Rapture, Logos would be closed because all the brothers & sister should be with the Lord. You included, you could will your library to a close unsaved family member that is if you have anyone that is not going to be at home with the Lord.

The company operates does has 'club' customers who are offered discounts on products to that non-club members are not offered. But never is the same product offered to club members and non-club members at the same time for different prices. The company operates a number of different stores and for the brand of stores club members are offered the following price a guarantee: if the product the customer has purchased goes on special within two weeks, the difference is credited direct the customers Club card. That I think is a generous offer but not all of the types of stores we operate have this same offer for their club members.

Same here. Not really too much of the deals on offer get me excited as I already own the things I might have looked at purchasing. Exception is the Old Testament Speaks Today Commentary but for a little bit more money I get a whole lot more resources in Anglican Portfolio so I still think I'll head down that purchasing path. The only other thing that intrigues me is the mobile Ed course on the History of Preaching but not sure yet if its worth it or not.
