Although I appreciate everyone who has answered my posts on forum, I'd like to learn how to "fish" myself. I just know, every time I turn to y'all for help (yep, I'm from Dixie), that my answer is out there already if I could just find it. Then I wouldn't be bothering you so much.
Having so much trouble, I ran a test one day. On the first page of the General Section, there was a two word heading for a post. I did a search on those two words and got hundreds of returns, on one word or the other. When I put the two words in quotes, I got no return.
I have tried to use Google with site:community.logos.com as one of the search terms (this is how it is stated in the instructions). But I got two returns only. However, if you are searching for some particular subject, it seems like that subject would be the search term and not site:community.logos.com. I tried using this as an address in google but didn't find a way to make is useful.
And it's confusing to have an original post and then the various back and forth comments all listed, instead of having the original and then clicking on it to read all the replies. No wonder there's 300 pages or 13,900 pages to look thru with all these repeats. I just don't have time to go through these to find an answer to my problem. Is there something I can click on, some setting I can change to get rid of the duplicates temporarily while I run my search?
So, for those of you who know how to use forum correctly, what steps do you use? What helpful hints can you pass on? What site gave you useful instructions? I certainly would appreciate any help you can give me and then I won't have to bother you so much!!!
