I continuing to work my way through Verbum Advanced Search Training (https://www.logos.com/product/51655/verbum-advanced-search-training) and was wondering where I might find the answers to the "Verbum Challenges" that were posted at the end of each video section. After searching I can't seem to find anything. I'd just like to compare my answers to theirs.
I think this has been asked before with no answers found - both to your question and to the Verbum challenge questions - unless I missed it. I agree an appendix at end of the resource or in a separate resource with the tutors suggested approach would have be helpful for reviewing our understanding of the techniques being presented.
I read somewhere on the forums also of changes to the search engine. I wonder if that impacts any way on what has been taught in this excellent series.
I suggest re-posting in the Catholic Products forum, where it may be seen more quickly by one of the creators of the resource.
Nice suggestion, Bruce. I'll try to put together a PDF or similar with suggested answers and post it to the Faithlife group in the next couple of weeks.
Merry Christmas!

Thanks Fr. Devin. Merry Christmas to you as well!
Today I posted a PDF to the Advanced Search Training Faithlife group with suggested answers to all the Verbum Challenges. Hope it is helpful!
Thanks!
I assume FL's decision was to keep the costs down, instead of turning it into a proper full-fledged course with an activities resource containing the challenge (questions and) answers.
Perhaps future trainings can take advantage of everything the Courses tool offers, including quizzes and activities!
Thanks again!
Peta all Verbum Training has been always done in this format. I'm quite happy with it in this format and at a reduced cost the training will reach a wider audience than it might if it was a full mobile Ed course. I agree though the extra features would be nice but for me not necessary for this sort of training based on my experience with LT151 and LT161. I think the added cost would make it prohibitive to a lot of users and actually turn off some people who are not fans of mobile Ed as they see it as an overpriced training model.
Thanks for posting the suggested answers.
Thanks for the pdf file. This will add so much value to the course.

Since FL has plans to produce additional Verbum training after L7, continuing to do it the "L6-era" way it's always been done means the training won't ever benefit from the new features that L7 supports.
Mobile Ed does offer 12 courses (regularly) priced less than $99, so it's certainly within the realm of possibility.
Can't we look ahead and think of how new customers (who never used L6) will perceive this, if some recent training is full-featured, yet others isn't?
Plus, it misses the biggest irony of all, by advanced search challenge answers not being searchable. Let's not cripple users' ability to find help by omitting answers from the course itself.
Personally, I preferred textbooks without all the answers. Still do.
I'm not sure what you are meaning by "L6-era". Verbum training has nothing do with any "L6-era"and it has been done independently of m.ED and m.Ed and the courses tools are separate things. m.Ed has always had quizzes and activities. The only thing the course tool does for m.Ed is provide an automatic checklist of completion and a schedule of sorts. You are linking up things that are unrelated and assigning things to the course tool that have nothing to do with the courses tool.

You have too look at the content of those courses and the price point of the current Verbum Training and the additional material you want added. I would be surprised if these would end up being under $99 and you still have the issue that not everyone is in love with m.Ed branding like you are and the course tool can be made use of without the need of a m.Ed course.
Peta why do you have to make things always about how new customers are somehow disadvantaged. We were all, well most of us, new customers at some point and all of us can tell a story how if we had of started using Logos just a bit earlier we would have got a great deal on this or that. They are not disadvantaged you are suggesting something that has never been offered before - answers to activities.
The biggest irony is that you are trying to argue that this should a be a m.ED course and part of the course tool so we would have searchable answers. There is no existing mobile Ed course that provides answers. The existing LT161 course has no answers other than the inbuilt quizzes, in fact it doesn't even have any activities as part of the courses.
You are speaking as a Logos users who want's something that was developed a very specific way for the Verbum market to look like it was developed for the Logos market. It just so happens in this instance that the content of the course also benefits Logos users. Faithlife have had their reasons for doing things differently in Verbum and Logos and those reasons may be part of why they have not done Verbum Training as a m.Ed course up until this point. And they can continue to provide Verbum Training after L7 whether it is as a mobile Ed course or not.
But there are customers who also have a negative view of the m.Ed brand as being overpriced and this may be another reason they decide not to put Verbum training in a m.Ed overcoat.
Of course they are free to change that strategy if they think it appropriate, i just dont' see any added value other than giving us answers for these sort of activities.
Much appreciated. Thanks!
The training is also sold to Logos customers, however I have no experience with Verbum, so I'm completely unfamiliar with how differently FL may market Verbum-branded resources.
I don't desire to get into an argument whether it is or isn't a good idea. I simply expressed how convenient it would be if future answers could be available within the program.

9 of the 13 courses in my library include some "Show Result" answers for their challenges, which are hidden behind a (+) icon:
HB101 makes the most use of answers throughout their activities, so you can check your results right within the program.
