Is the New FOL Membership Program Better than NOW? (yes, joking)

FOL is the new Fix-Old-Logos membership program.

It's patterned after iOS apps that really didn't want to offer a new paid app that looked suspiciously similar to the old app. So, an early app offerred a beer-glass button, that sent a tip to the developer (after Apple's cut, I guess). I have a great app now, where you can purchase all the new add-ons, but you already have them free. Works great!

So, here's the idea. Logos puts a FOL button in Logos (maybe with a big green checkmark) and when you click on it (with confirmation), a small tip ($2 is the usual for iOS) goes to fund FOL ...and only FOL. Not new NOW features or another major Faithlife project.

Some will argue, 'well gee, why did I subscribe to NOW?' Answer: for new features. Next question?

Or ask 'Won't my tips just encourage worse development?' Answer: compared to what? Next question?

And finally, 'This sounds like another money-making idea?' Answer: Of course.

Sounds great Denise but a companion membership program is also required for fixing broken resources that have missing or incorrect tagging etc

How about: when FL offers a loss leader, we don't purchase it? That way, we'll save money and FL won't lose money. It's a win-win. (also joking)

Yes, doc, I'm glad you brought that up.

You're probably referring to the FAR membership program (Fix All Resources, which additionally includes any not yet shipped). As a member of this exciting program, any errors you report, go to the 'front of the line' ... Logos literally commits to fix your error sometime in the future (this includes Bob's foreseeable future, plus the future beyond*)!

* Unless something happens.

Great idea Dale, maybe they could put a big green tick on the product pages of items they want us to buy because the margin returns for them are good, and a big Red Cross on the product pages of those items which don't help them out with gross margin.

How about: when FL offers a loss leader, we don't purchase it? That way, we'll save money and FL won't lose money. It's a win-win. (also joking)
