How can I add notes and highlighting that would appear in all Bible versions?

If you want to add a note to all, you simply attach the note to the "reference" instead of the "selection." It will then appear in all "versified" resources.

If you want to add highlighting... you <kind of> can do so. First, both resources must have a "reverse interlinear." If the source document (the one you highlight in) has an RI, then you can turn on a visual filter to show highlights in other bibles with RI's attached as well. I believe it is the "corresponding notes & highlights" visual filter.

I am heading out the door very shortly, so I may not be able to answer your question. Which part were you needing help with / don't understand?

    Or be original language texts.

I had done this by accident when I was using the default palette-based highlighting and notes. I had added a note on my tablet in the Greek New Testament. I noticed that it showed up in the NASB when I was using the desktop. I assume it put it in the Highligher notes because I had been using the yellow highlighter pen on the tablet.

I tried highlighting a word and taking a note on it in the Greek New Testament (NA27), but it does not show up in my English Reverse Internlinears.

I am trying to get a better organization system for my notes and highlighting. I changed the palettes to use resource-specific notes. This is more valuable for taking notes on books, because I have a separate note file for each book.

But for Bibles, I would like all of my notes and highlights to be in a single file for Bibles. Is there any way I can organize things so all Bibles used the same note and highlighting document?

Perhaps this change to resource-specific notes has caused my highlights to not appear in all Bibles.

I am wondering if a better plan would be to change all of the palettes back to the default palette specific note file, so the notes and highlights could be shared by the Bibles. Then create a duplicate of the desired palette and make it resource-specific, which I would use whenever I want to take notes on a book. Any thoughts on this plan?

    It is unrelated.

Seeing highlights taken in one translation in another is a bit of magic.

By definition, highlights are notes "by selection." There isn't a button to press to highlight an entire verse... you select the verses, phrases, words or even single characters (!) you want to highlight. For this reason, highlights taken in one translation aren't available in another... BUT... this newish feature takes the underlying original language word, along with the reference and makes a "best guess." The highlight seen in the secondary resource isn't actually in the secondary resource. The highlight still only resides in the original resource, upon the "selection" originally made. It only "appears" to be in the secondary resource.

"Resource specific note files" only means "when I take notes using this marker, place the highlight note in a note document named for the resource." You can manually add notes to that document from other resources.

Since you are still having troubles, I suggest you take screen shots to show us your visual filter menu for that resource.

    Welcome [:D]

Logos wiki has => Adding notes to your Note File that shows both by selection and by reference.

    Keep Smiling [:)]
