I just got a new android device & since it has been a long time since I have had to deal with the set up I forgot how to have multiple books open at same time for studying.

I assume you're on a mobile app?
If so, you drag the little grey half circle on the right-bottom, up (using finger or stylus). To close the 2nd resource, you drag it back down.
A long-press on the grey half circle has a menu. To select a resource for the 2nd panel, touch the 2nd resource area first.
Again, if we're talking one of the Logos apps?
