4.0b Beta 5: Collections pane doesn't remember view or column settings
Steps:
- In Collections pane, click View button to set to grid view.
- Right click on a column heading and add or subtract some columns, and drag to resize some columns.
- Close collections pane and reopen it.
Result: It forgets all of the above settings and reverts back to the default.
This is a pain. It takes some time to set up the columns the way you like them, and having to redo it each time is no fun. This should behave the way the Library window does (it remembers the view, which columns are visible, and column widths).
I thought I had reported this before, but cannot seem to find it anywhere. Forgive me if it's a duplicate.

I can't replicate that, but this pane does not remember its View setting after restarting L4.

This happens in the production version (4.0a SR-3) as well! I was hoping it was fixed in 4.0b.

Wow. You can't replicate it in the beta? You mean you can close the Collections panel completely (not just change the Vew back to collection view and then back to grid view -- which does preserve the column settings and widths) and reopen it, and it remembers that it was in Grid View and remembers all the column settings? That is remarkable! I've never seen this work properly, and it seems to me they'd have had to intentionally change it to make it work for anyone, and it is hard to imagine how it could work for some peole but not others unless they are using different versions. What version are you using?

MelissaBump. This is still bothering me a lot. (Running 4.0b Beta 9.) Any chance this is going to be done in a 4.0b beta release, or do we have to wait for 4.0c? It doesn't seem like it would be that big a deal to remember the setting. Or at least that the status of this bug as logged on the wiki (http://wiki.logos.com/Bug$3a_Collections_pane_doesn't_remember_view_or_column_settings) could be promoted from "pending" to "confirmed" so that I have some idea it has made it into the bug database at Logos HQ and can relax about it for now? Thanks!
