I'd like to suggest Ziony Zevit, What Really Happened in the Garden of Eden? (Yale University Press, 2013). He's a Jewish scholar, and I've heard good things.
I hope this book provides some new views. Most commentaries are copies of each other and based on relative late Jewish or Western views.
Currently I have a working hypothesis that Gen 2-3 tells that Adam had enough cattle to pay the bride fee and then he got a prophecy that Eve is suitable for his wife. That is based on my interpretation of the African culture. Therefore I´ll try to find any kind of views that might give me some support, although it is probable that I will not find any.
