You can turn it off by configuring the Bible text only options in the visual filters menu (three circles button). Unchecking Bible text formatting will turn off the red text (and perhaps other formatting depending on the Bible, e.g. italics in the LEB.)
We have a case scheduled to be worked on this week or next. Until we can do a more complete solution the fix is a quick one where we will simply respect whatever your synced desktop program setting is for red letter. In the future we will probably try to add it to the visual filter's menu, or a program setting, once we have a program settings panel.
The web app will now respect the desktop app Show Red Letter in Bibles program setting. Refresh the browser after changing the setting in the desktop app while working online to see it change.

Turning off Bible text formatting gets rid of other things I want, though (ex: LORD turns to Lord in the OT).
Please give us the option to turn of just the red letters.
I opened a case for this and linked to this post. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
Thanks Lawrence!
Any updates, Lawrence?

That fix would be fine :-)
