Searching Notes?

I am trying to search within my notes (hadn't tried to before) and am finding that it seems I cannot. At one point it seems there was a search function available:

But this no longer seems to be the case. I've also gone back through the MP training manuals and see no reference to this, so I have a disappointing hunch this is not going to be happening for me.

As told in the wiki and in the thread Scott pointed to, searching your notes is part of the general Basic Search feature, namely, searching your documents:

The results may be grouped by type (so your noes will come up separately from your clippings, passage lists etc.)

This search will now position you directly at the note which triggered the search hit within the note file (actually it will filter the note file, so you'll only see those notes that contain the word searched for, like an Inline Search does in a resource - this used not to be the case in the past, thus the wiki points to the Ctrl-F Find that will provide the same functionality within a notes file you opened).

The advice given above indicates that there are two methods. Both have their limitations:

Find (Ctrl+F) only works within the current Note file/document.
Find will display only the individual notes containing the result(s).
Basic Search of "Your Documents" shows results from all your documents (Clippings, Notes, Handouts, Word List, etc)
Basic Search has a link to the individual notes.
Basic Search will tell you how many times it occurs in the note and highlights the first result if it is in the Content area.

So you can start with Basic Search, especially if you need to search all your Notes documents.
