To immediately update to the current stable version enter the Update Now command. Otherwise, the app will automatically update the next time it's scheduled to check for updates.

This update automatically downloaded and now Logos is completely unusable. I don't even have menu commands except "Untitled." I am using OS X 10.10.5 and am wondering if the update is incompatible with my level of system software. If it is, then Logos should not have downloaded the software automatically to my computer. How do i get the previous version of Logos back? Thanks, Brett

It is incompatible! And I agree it should not have been downloaded (the same happens on the mobile platform).
How do i get the previous version of Logos back?
As with the Windows system, the previous version is not readily available. I suggest upgrading to the latest OS X version, else get in touch with Customer Service.

Welcome [:D]
Concur Logos 7.12 should not have downloaded to OS X 10.10 after => Announcement: Dropping support for Mac OSX 10.10 for Logos 7.12
Personally upgraded OS X 10.10.5 to macOS 10.12.6 that reduced space used by operating system. Due to Apple Mail display issue in macOS 10.13 with Intel HD Graphics 3000 (black on black is hard to read), choose to wait for macOS 10.13 improvements for my 2011 MacBook Air.
Once a newer Logos application has opened, your database support files are upgraded (so older application will crash). If you have a Time Machine Backup, then could restore your Logos 7.11 application and your Logos4 folder. Otherwise suggest upgrading OS X 10.10 to one of the three newer system versions (10.11, 10.12, or 10.13) that are supported.

Brett,
I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the software. I believe you might be experiencing a similar issue that is addressed here: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/157037.aspx
Regarding the incompatibility with macOS 10.10:
We announced dropping support for 10.10 well in advance of this release and in line with our intention. However, the required changes took longer than expected and were non-trivial. We didn't feel comfortable pushing them without getting sufficient developer testing before they would ship in a beta. So, 10.10 will actually be supported until 7.14. I'll post this update in the announcement thread as well.- Matt

Matt,
Yes, I am experiencing a similar issue as the person in the forum, but none of those solutions worked, nor did anything in on the webpage: "What to do if Logos Crashes or Fails to Open: Troubleshooting an Application Crash in Logos or the Logos Indexer."
As to the notification for dropping support for 10.10, I never received any such notification and only found out by accident after the Logos application automatically updated and I checked the forum for a solution. No email was ever sent to me regarding this announcement. So you can understand my frustration. I don't want automatic updates and i would like access to previous versions of Logos if this kind of thing happens again.

Brett - I would try reinstalling the engine. Use the link in my signature line.
As for dropping support, we were told (in the forums) but apparently they have (wisely) delayed the change for further testing. Is there a reason you have not updated your macOS yet?

Support page => Logos Crashes or Fails to Open near the bottom includes "Report the Problem"
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, please visit Diagnostic Logging for Mac to report the issue or Contact Support for further assistance. Including specific steps you took to cause the crash will expedite the troubleshooting process.
Contacting Support has option (with your permission) for Faithlife to remotely connect to your computer to investigate, which could include downloading older 7.11 SR-2 application bundle.
Humanly not know cause for issue. Support page => https://www.logos.com/support/mac/report-problem includes link for Logos Logging Utility. Suggest enabling diagnostic logging followed by launching Logos. Personally have diagnostic logging enabled so can look at Logos.log when application is not responding: e.g. opening a Bible includes doing all Visual Filter searches so can populate a list of visual filters in menu (automatic search assistance is annoyingly slow).

Likewise did not receive email from my use of 7.11 on OS X 10.10 about end of support. Thankful for forum announcement thread that provided my motivation to upgrade from OS X 10.10 Yosemite to macOS 10.12 Sierra.
Tools => Program Settings includes "Automatically Download Updates" that can be set to No, which causes a notification to appear when resource and/or program updates are available with size of download. Program update is ~200 MB. Download sizes below 200 MB are resource only. Faithlife updates wiki => https://wiki.logos.com/Logos_7_Release_Notes while user updates => Mac Release Notes and History
Alternative to avoid automatic program updates is command:
set update channel to manual
Since "manual" is not configured for updates, then no more automatic program updates. Can manually update using links => https://www.logos.com/install

Thank you, Keep Smiling 4 Jesus, for your advice. I contacted Customer Support, and they eventually solved the problem. I am not sure what caused it, but the technician guided me through some steps to change the permissions. I am also grateful for the information about how to turn off automatic downloads.

There is no "Send to sermon" option in the send to file. And the "Drag and Drop" does not make any sense and if you copy and paste, it still does not show the media in the sermon document on the app as has been requested.

You have to be a Logos Now member for this feature to work. If you are an LN member, then something is definitely wrong.

Yes, I am a LN member. Can you offer a screenshot of what I am looking for?

However, holding down the control key and right clicking on the image, still does not show me the "send to sermon" option.
Same here

I am away from my computer right now, but I believe you have to have a sermon file open for that to work. Either a blank one or the one you are using.

I do have a sermon file open but I still don't see the option.

You shouldn't have to right-click to bring the option up in the context menu. Holding Control/Command is just for the drag and drop feature. You're example is from the Media tool, and I too am not seeing the option from there. Have you tried it from a resource with images like Images of the Holy Land?

It looks like you are using Media...right click and send to sermon for Media is added in the most recent Beta--

That works for me
So looks like an issue with the Media Tool

Yes - but as per Tommy's note above it looks like it isn't working from the Media Tool

I do have a sermon file open but I still don't see the option.
Ctrl+Drag from the Media Tool should work, but there is no option to send to sermon from the context menu in the Media tool. The send to option is in the menu toolbar.
Edit: I don't know if the context menu option missing is by design or something that will be added. I'll find out and update here.

Ctrl-Drag is only need in a media resource where dragging normally just pans the image around. In the Media tool you can just drag without an extra modifier key.

A case is being written up to add Sermon to the context menu when right-clicking an image in the Media tool.
