Well, we've automatically been migrated to Faithlife Connect...

Of note, we've been transitioned to the more expensive plan, despite what the FAQ previously(?) said:
Will my price go up because of these changes?
No. We’ve migrated all customers to a Faithlife Connect plan that will not cause their monthly rate to go up. However, Logos Now members who wish to stay current with all Logos features will need to upgrade to Faithlife Connect Essentials or above.

This is so wrong in so many levels it’s hard to describe. And here I was thinking about picking back my LN subscription! I’m glad I didn’t! I just saved myself $100 bucks!
Thanks FL!

You'll be able to select from the entire catalog of Mobile Ed individual courses, ie not bundles or collections of courses.

[:O] That's impressive! There are some 20-hour courses which retail for $750.
Considering that the majority of subscribers would be entitled to 1 to 2 courses/yr, that's a really remarkable benefit that helps the subscription pay for itself.

I've not gotten any mail yet. Can you share yours? What exactly are they doing to mitigate this horrible 140% price increase?

I suspect we're all getting some type of favorable deal, but you'd need to wait to find out the specifics, as they may do something different for you to mitigate the price increase.
Hope it brings a smile to your face. [:)]

First codes are already active, however, some users are still being fully migrated and licenses being updated, so it may take until tomorrow for codes to be fully usable by all customers.
Codes are valid for one year from the time that they are issued and are issued in January, April, July, and October. Once you redeem a Faithlife Courses code, you can access the course for six months.
You can find easy access links to everything included in your subscription on your Faithlife Connect hub page.0 -

As PetahChristian accurately stated, sharing emails with anyone would not be helpful, as it's specific to each customer. We did include a promo code to help Logos Now customers either upgrade their Connect subscription or purchase a library or feature set. Our hope is that solution will help ease the transition into Faithlife Connect, along with the increased benefits value.

I got the mail a little bit ago. It does mitigate the pain a little, but I am still extremely disappointed in this move. I was very happy with Logos Now until you did this. It was an affordable means of staying up to date, and I especially enjoyed the preview resources each month. I live and work in the developing world, and I simply cannot afford a 140% price hike. I will not be able to continue my subscription, and this experience will definitely dampen my enthusiasm for any future schemes you put forward.

That benefit is continued with Faithlife Connect (it's now called Featured Book). And you'll continue to receive a discount code the following month should you decide you want to purchase that resource.

Hi,
I'm really angry about this. As a Logos Now user I am suddenly confronted with an increase in price of over 100%. I feel that I was lured into the Now plan. I cannot afford to pay out anymore so I shall loose all the benefits of Now.
I feel as if I have been really fooled. I have spent out loads of money on modules that are useless with any other software and I can see that within a couple of years I am going to be working with an out of date software package. Really beginning to think I should have spent the money I've spent on Logos with Olive Tree with whom I have considerable resources.
So much for Christian organisations - they'll bleed you dry as well as any other outfit.
Tony Dowden.

I just stick with the purchase model - causes less confusion and stress.
All these wonderful new ideas Logos Cloud and Logos Now - I want to buy software and its attendant components not lease - pay loads of money and if I stop paying I still have nothing. I want it on my PC/Mac - nowhere else.
The whole software world has gone mad.!!!
I will never get Photoshop until there is a purchase option.
I will always avoid software where there is no purchase option.
Sigh Kevin

Considering FL Study Bible is free, if you were renting it for $30 per year, you were being totally ripped off.

Good Morning Chris. This email we are supposed to get... Is that the one explaining the program and it has a coupon code for a future purchase? Or will there be more specifically tiered emails to certain individuals? I had LN at first, then dropped it for a bit, and then came back. I got an email with $100 off L8 I believe. I just wanted to make sure I'm not missing any emails here on this. I accidently subscribed to the forum post yesterday and woke up with 65+ emails. I hope I didn't delete anything important [:)]

How were you transitioned to the most expensive plan? I was given the "Starter" plan... and this line was the killer in my email
"We’ve migrated you to Faithlife Connect Starter because it’s priced at $89.99/yr, a savings of $10."
Except I paid $99 on January 2...
So good on ol' Logos for figuring out how to sneak more money out of us.

Well, are you satisfied with the explanation
Yes, DAL. Satisfied and very grateful.
DAL said:why are you going to end up paying $234 per year instead of $99.99 per year?
Well, I already used one of my Faithlife Connect benefits to get 6-month access to a $450 Mobile Ed course. Considering that we can get access to any two courses a year, that may be a $1500 benefit just by itself (depending on your course selection).
I also got a free Lexham Press book. Considering that some were dissatisfied that the free LN books were Public Domain titles, we can now choose an additional book each month from many modern titles that FL publishes, including EEC volumes. Let's estimate that benefit at $350.
FL was generous with LN benefits which paid for the cost of that membership, and FL appears to be even more generous with just those two FL Connect benefits, which are helping to pay for this membership.
Free coupon to use on L7, L8, or Faithlife Connect? Free extension of Logos Now to November? Free courses? More free books? FL gave me a whole lot of something, and they didn't have to do any of that.
I was initially resistant, due to the sticker shock, but after reading the email and all the benefits that FL is providing, FL has been nothing but very kind, and I am very thankful for the savings.

I wasn't impressed with the Lexham selections as there weren't much to choose from so I wonder as time goes on if they'll add more. Overall though, when the dust settles this might turn out to be a not-so-bad-as-originally-thought. I still don't like having cloud books shoved into my account though. I don't understand why they need to make us take the cloud. I'm guessing it is easier to manage on their end.

In the good old Now days, were there Mobile Ed courses available for free perusal?? If so, what was the % discount offered if buying them at the end??
Under Connect, can one buy them at a discount when the ''free'' time is up?? Is the % off known??

No, we never got a Mobile Ed course as a free preview. The timeline has specifics.
scooter said:If so, what was the % discount offered if buying them at the end?
We would get a coupon code for 40% off for the previous month's preview resource. I expect the discount will be the same for FL Connect.
scooter said:Under Connect, can one buy them at a discount when the ''free'' time is up?
That's a good question. I don't know.
Maybe FL will add that option, if it doesn't exist already.

My sentiments exactly.
The cost has exceeded the value for me a s a retiree and a layperson.
Either reinstate the Now program with the same features and benefits we had last week. Or let me trade the Now subscription ( I still have 9 months on mine) for the complete Logos 7 feature set. That way I'll feel like I have gotten some value for my money.

+ PetahChristian Thank you...I appreciate Ur willingness to disseminate what U know.

I agree that it feels a bit “not right” that us loyal Logos Now customers will have to pay double to maintain the Full Feature set.. I became, and planned on continuing, a Logos Now subscriber mainly for the Full Feature set (So I don’t have to purchase it each version upgrade) and getting the new features first.
I too am planning to Drop out in November.
Unless.
May I suggest you “grandfather” your existing Logos now Subscribers by letting them stay at their current Subscription rate for the Faith life Connect Essentials subscription? (With of course modest increases over future years for inflation)
Just throwing out ideas.

Expired Subscriptions
Faithlife Study Bible (6 vols.) - Annual Subscribe $29.95 per year
When the FSB FIRST came out, it was free to use for a limited time, transitioning into a subscription service. At some point FL ceased the subscription model for that resource (hence the "expired" subscription in your records).

Will you own the free Lexham Press book or will it only be yours to use for the month? I've looked at the Connect product page and that isn't clear to me.

Verbum sucks BIG TIME anyway, so they should just go ahead and erase it from the map and do a Logos Catholic Starter, Bronze, etc. like they’ve done with the ”denominational” base packages. No need to have the Verbum brand since it’s struggling to survive anyway. #DitchtheVerbumBrand #CreateLogosCatholicBasePackages #NobodyCaresAboutVerbum!!!

Not 100%. There are a few things in Logos Now that aren't in Verbum Now. Likewise, Verbum Now contains a few things that aren't in Logos Now. I don't recall exactly what is different.
Perhaps one of the Verbum users can state the differences?
