Does anyone know if this comes with a study guide and do u have an opinion about the resource?
mm.
Yes, it includes the Study Guide. To me it’s an extremely helpful resource! I’ve learned a lot from it. Here’s a screenshot showing both resources:
Thanks very helpful. I think then, I'll grab it.
I just downloaded the Intro to the History of Christianity and all the pix and bio's are in black and white - no colour and some pictures are not even in the resource.
This is first pic is from the description page about the resource in question:
The second pic is from the resource I just downloaded. Note the picture is missing in the download.
The third pic is from the Logos description.
The last pic is from the download.
The product description states that the pictures are not going to be in the Logos edition.
Didn't read that. My bad. However, why is everything in still in black or gray?
I thought there was going to be a second edition with pictures included. I got the first edition for $9.99 in Logos during a Fortress Press sale, because I was interested in the information, but pictures would be ok to have too.

For 9 bucks that's a steal. I called FL and they said the exclusion of pictures and colour were probably a copy write issue. Never the less it's a good resource and especially that it includes a study guide and Guide to writing a research paper. I may in fact write a research paper just for the fun of it. I very much like church history and this will keep the milkman's mind nice and sharp.
Agree with u about inserting pictures.
It was probably one of the titles that became prepub history because it wasn’t getting enough traction.

I have the second edition which came out in 2013. The color pictures and maps make for a very visually appealing book.
The lack of pictures and the older edition dissuaded from buying the first edition (2002) on logos.
but u don't have the 2013 ed in logos, correct? Bcuz I don't see it.
Yes, I have the 2013 dead tree version and decided to forego the 2002 digital version in logos for the reasons mentioned above.
I wonder how many potential, there's the P word, buyers have decided NOT TO BUY THIS PRODUCT because of what we're talking about? I wonder if there was any way that FL could buy the copyrights and still make a profit if they knew how many ppl would actually purchase the "full" edition with pictures and colour?
Or, if the copyright costs X amount and the projected sales of the new book brought in at least the percentage that FL needs to make a profit would FL consider it?
Also, if it cost a nominal fee to upgrade (pick a percentage or amount) from the 'old' version to the new and improved one, would owners of the old version upgrade? I would in a heart beat.
I can see a whole new division of reaching out to already owned users of products and letting them know that new products or updates to their already owned resources are available for a nominal fee. Lots of mula to make and lots of satisfied customers as well. Win-win?

I think the issue is not with Faithlife buying the copyrights. It's with the original publishers not securing the picture copyrights for electronic distribution. You can't just "buy" them someplace - you need to research the current copyright holders of those pictures (which in case of such resources will be spread around the globe in various jurisdictions) and agree with each one of them - or the respective company, academic institution, trust, heirs etc. pp. The legal situation will be different for each and any of those. That's what makes it so difficult or rather impossible.
