Just Downloaded Calvin Commentaries. Very Nice

It may have just been coincidence/just a matter of timing, but
repeatedly running "update now" did not cause the files to
automatically download (as it has for earlier purchases/pre-pub
releases into L4) until after I went back to the [erroneous] email
instructions in the invoice. All I'd get before that was the dreaded
"No Updates Available" ticker at the bottom right screen.I wondered at the time if it hadn't just been a matter of unlocking
the files with script ... something I'd never had to do with any other
post-L4 install new purchases or pre-pub releases.I don't think it was a coincidence.
I had my commentaries upgraded before the upgrade prepub went live, so those weren't related to the order. The Haroutunian volume, on the other hand, did NOT download automatically after I got my order processed email. I waited over 24 hours to see if it would. I just recently restarted v4 and ran update resources. But NOTHING. Then, after that, I ran the v3 update script, and synchronized licenses. And when I restarted v4, the missing volume downloaded immediately.
I think they may be forgetting to update the server-side licenses sometimes when processing the orders, maybe?

I guess the positive thing for those of us who did pre-pub orders and haven't received an email or anything is that we're not trying to figure out how to get it to download properly. [:D] I suspect there's some scurrying around going on in Washington, trying to get everything together before Monday.

Still nothing downloading for L4 nor for Libronix.
I've tried restarting L4, running update now and update resources to no avail. I also reran the script for Libronix.
So far all I have is the Haroutunian title.

I had a version of Calvin's commentaries, which I used for years.
I ordered the update.
And like others, my cc has been charged.
Now, I don't have the updated commentaries and I cannot find the old resources either.
I do have Haroutunian.

I don't understand. I did have to download the 3.0 volumes from the ftp site, but my 4.0 volumes downloaded after an Update Resources. I wish we could help.
I think frustration abounds right now with the Calvin 500 releases: from not understanding that the Galaxie commentary would not be able to be upgraded, to inability to download all resources (or any), to metadata problems, to bad emails, to not being able to get the commentaries to work in the Passage Guide. Anything I've left out? This is a very poor release from Logos.

Well you should still have the old ones. Nothing that Logos did in releasing this version should affect that. Very curious. (I do still have mine).

Thanks Mark.
I just went to my old computer, which still has Logos 3 installed, and found the file. Apparently, my version isn't an AGES version, but one from Galaxie Software:
Calvin, J. (2000). Calvin's Commentaries (electronic ed.). electronic ed. Garland, TX: Galaxie Software.
It was recognized on Logos 4 until last week when the not-yet present update cleared pre-pub.
Now, I don't have either the old version appearing on my Logos 4 library, or the new commentaries.

Doug,
I thought I replied earlier to this but now I don't see it.
The Calvin commentary upgrade is only for the AGES version not the Galaxie one. You will not get the new ones.
Can you check to see if you have this resource in your 4.0 resources folder?
The location in Windows 7 is:
C:\Users\{User Name}\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\{Random String}ResourceManager\Resources

Mark,
I looked and cannot see the resource in that folder. Do you happen to know the file name for the Galaxie version of Calvin's Commentaries?

Found the file name and its location on my laptop with Logos3. I do not have that file on my laptop with Logos 4.
I can copy the file into the folder.
It is an odd file: gs_calvc.lix
Anything else I should do?

Don't copy it into the Logos 4 folder. Logos 4 needs to recognize you are adding it. Copy it to another folder. C:\Temp would be fine. The use the Scan command in the command bar Scan C:\Temp hit Enter. Close Logos and reopen it to execute the command.

Hmm. Did all you mentioned and it doesn't appear to work. Any thoughts?

You need two files for the Logos 2 system: lix and lsf. See if you can find both of them and scan that file. You'll also need to make sure your licenses are synchronized in Libronix for L4 to know you have the right to the files.

None. I want to believe the scan command worked but for some reason Logos doesn't think you have a license for the file and isn't loading it in. That may also be the reason Logos 4 stopped recognizing it in the first place. Why this should have happened after you ran the script is beyond me.
Have you ever hidden this resource? If so you'd have to unhide it.
You probably will have to call Logos and tell them the situation and ask them specifically to check your license file on their system for the Galaxie Calvin Commentary set.

However, what I did in L3 was to put Calvin's Commentaries in a collection and make the collection a part of my passage guide. Haven't done this in L4 yet, since I've not spent much time in the Gospels since starting L4 (I did a 29 week series on Ephesians and loved every week!).
But this still doesn't work for the 5-10 or so books that don't have a pane where you can type in a passage and go straight to it.

Mark,
It is working! In my haste, I didn't copy over the second file. I just verified the Calvin's Commentaries are on Logos 4. Don't yet know if they will show in the commentary section while doing a passage search. But at least the Galaxie version of the commentaries is available once again. Thank you for your help (and yours Richard)!

No, I am saying that Calvin chooses not to download. An obvious example of free grace at work.

Good news.
Have you checked the Galaxie web site to see if they have updated the Calvin file to the newer format? (If you have two files that is two file formats behind). Might be worth getting the newer one and doing the scan thing again if they have it.

Bright eyes, Rich. I looked at the file listed and didn't see.

There is no product at the end of the link.

That is because the comma is included with the link, when it shouldn't be
