Logos application update fails installation

Hi there,

Hoping for some help with L7 failing to install an update.

When running Logos 7, I have a blue circle with 1 in it next to the sync arrows at the top - hovering over it indicates "installing application update". Then I get a message window saying "The installation of Logos Bible Software did not succeed"

6840.Logos Log Files.zip

Search of the attached logs revealed the following error:

RunCommandInstall MsiInstallProductW returned 1603: failure

Googled this and Logos advised removing KB2918614, but that does not seem to be installed.

So any other ideas?

Sorry to hear you are having problems.

There was an earlier discussion on a similar problem some years ago and a way of moving forward was outlined at https://community.logos.com/forums/p/114742/762261.aspx#762261

Translating to your context and the later version of software it would be something like:

In Windows Explorer, navigate to the C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Logos folder
Delete the Logos.exe file and the sibling en-US, es-ES and es-MX folders
Open the 7.17.0.0020 folder (not sure about this name but hopefully it will be clear from your folder structures) and double-click on Logos.exe
It should download and successfully install the update

Hi Graham,

Deleted the files and all good now (took a while to find the Logos.exe as that folder you mentioned (nor similar) was no where to be found.
