LLR (feedback)

LLR (Logos Library Reporter) latest version 1.2.0.0 is up on the site
A new updated User Manual is also up on the site.
With the limited number of users giving me feedback, i consider the LLR program complete. So unless i get feedback, i see no need for further changes. Hope ya'll enjoy the program and find it useful.

Received an email from Dave Hooton letting me know that User Series was missing (i had promised him that this would be included prior to the release of v 1.2.0.0). So this has been fixed and is up on the LLR website as ver 1.2.0.5.

Received an email from Dave Hooton letting me know that LLR crashed during opening with Logos ver 6.3 Beta 5. He determined the cause and informed me of the problem and a solution which i implemented into LLR. He tested my changes since i did not have the beta installed on my system. So now a new version of LLR is available on the LLR website as ver 1.2.0.7. This should be backwards compatible for those who don't have Logos/Verbum ver 6.3 beta and forward compatible for when FL releases ver 6.3.
Thanks Dave!!!

Thank you for LLR. I've only recently first used the product and, IMO, it fills a need.
I've encountered one small problem with the library shelf display function. Very many of the cover images fail to display. I don't value this feature as much so didn't immediately report.
FWIW - I was working with a catalogue from a Verbum 6.2 installation. This on a workstation with quad-core i7, 16GB Ram, nVidia Quadro 3000M 2GB video, and Windows 7 Professional.

Sorry Steve,
I was out and posting from my phone initially, soon after getting online from my workstation I had trouble with the internet connection - I'm away from home.

JAL's problem seems to be with the internet browsers trying to display a large number of book-covers. His library is very large.

Thank you Steve, sometime I will install and try an alternate browser. Once again thanks for providing, and supporting, LLR.

For Windows 10 users
Dave Hooton let me know that LLR crashed when using SQLite database functions (ReadDB, SaveDB, Reports).
Dave found that MS Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable were not installed in Windows 10. After he went to the Microsoft site and installed them LLR worked fine.
I have not been able to get these dll's to install with LLR's setup. So for now you will need to go to Microsoft's site and install it from there until i can resolve this issue. Again, this only affects those who are running LLR on Windows 10.
Microsoft site to download these
Be sure to scroll down and click on Install Instructions, it will guide you through the install operation!
P.S. make sure that LLR is closed prior to installing the above DLLs.
P.S.2 You will only need to install these DLLs once per computer with Windows 10.

Thank you Steve for a wonderful program. I updated LLR 2 days ago and upgraded to 10 today. I went to the link to get MS visual c ++ 2010 redistributable and downloaded to run. It came back with the notice that a newer version was already installed in MS10 and recommended to cancel. I did so and ran LLR just a few minutes ago and had no problems reading db, saving or doing a report. I did have a few updates to ms10 before I ran LLR, maybe it has been corrected. Anyhow, mine ran without error ver 1.2.1.0.
Thank you for the wonderful program.

From above reports it is possible that the correct version x86 SP1 redistributable is already installed by other applications.
So if you find that LLR does not work in Win 10 then download the x86 SP1 redistributable from my link.

I just wanted to offer a "High Five" to Steve for this great tool. I use it weekly now, to keep a record of the state of my library. Here's why:
Today in Logos/Verbum there is no indication when resources are removed from your library - a license revoked, for example. Now, this never used to be an issue, for me at least; if I requested a refund on a resource for example, I knew that resource would be removed on restart. But now, with the Logos Now subscriptions, the monthly resources that are so generously offered to us monthly will go away later - and you really don't have any indication of it, like you did when the resource was added.
So I make a database copy using LLR weekly. Then, if I see something odd with my resource count, I can run a new DB copy right then and there, and by comparing to "last week's" database copy, and using one of the reports that shows resource(s) discrepancies between the two database copies, I see instantly what has been removed. I also tag any incoming free subscription resources as "Logos Now", so as part of the report I see the tag of the resource removed, "Logos Now", and I not only know exactly what resource(s) have been removed, but whether it was a free subscription resource or a possible license mistake.
Very nice job Steve. Thanks for sharing this tool with us!
