Dragon Software and Logos 6

i am to the point health wise of limited mobility in one arm and thus our ministry is acquiring Dragon Natural Speaking Software (DS) for MS Word, etc. I was wondering if it was in any way compatible with Logos 6?  I am primarily concerned with its ability to copy and paste sections of material into MS Word. If not I can read the material ... 

I have Macs if that makes a difference.

    Sorry to hear of your troubles. 

    I am a bit confused by your question. It sounds like you are wanting to have things "read aloud." Is that right? If the "read aloud" feature built into Logos isnt sufficient, you can export text from Logos to word. Use the "print/export" button in the resource's menu (book cover, upper left hand corner of panel). Does that answer your question?

    Thanks James and Alabama,


    What I am looking for is the ability to command Logos 6 / thru Dragon to copy and paste certain portions of texts into MSW. 


     If it is not possible than I can always read the text I desire from Logos into MSW thru Dragon. This takes longer but I know that can be done.


    The software is being ordered today/ tomorrow, I am just not sure what to expect.

    I don't recall ever having any issues with Dragons' voice commands etc., in Logos. Once you have the commands down, it will take time for it to train you and for you to get used to all the command, but I never had any issues.

    I haven't used the program for quite awhile now as I simply find it easier to point and highlight and paste. 

    Good luck, if it works in a Mac platform and you can manipulate the speech functions, then it's great to have.

    I haven't used Dragon in a while either and never tried it with Logos but it did work well with Scrivener and Word. The commands should work with Logos as well.

    The training process that it asks you to go through upon first installation is actually a tutorial. It will help you get up and running.

    You can dictate into any spot in Logos that accepts typing. As for commands in Logos, I'm not sure how easy it is to use. I haven't used it in awhile. I had an injury that left me unable to type for about a month and I used it during that time and I remember it being a bit of a struggle and I kept wanting to go back to mouse/keyboard. If I was permanently in that situation I supposed I would have been more motivated to make it work better. I think it's doable.

    Hi Ken,

    Sorry to hear about your difficulty. These things can be rather difficult.

    Thanks for the additional information on Dragon. This sounds promising.
