[resolved] Auto-Update (6.3.0.0015)
Repeated crashes when using the "update now" command.
Oops. Posted by mistake when trying to get attach logs which isn't working. Then lost text of message when I was re-editing...
Twice I downloaded Vyrso freebies while Logos was running. Used the "Update Now" command and Logos crashed. Restarted and used the command again with same results. If I let Logos discover it it works fine.

Randy, can you post your log files?

Those zip files don't seem to be valid. Can you try again?

Sorry. Trying to see how many times I can goof up in one thread. I was initially trying to up 7z files which caused the error with attachments. I changed the extension which works if you use 7z but not all archivers. Here are the corrected uploads. Apologies for the noise.

Randy looked at the base packages in your signature. You are missing Sda Silver. [:)]

Randy, are you activating "update now" from a shortcut, or by entering the command in the command bar?

I tried both. The first few times was from a shortcut. The final time I used the command box. I just tried again, using the command box with the same result.
The sequence is:
- Open Logos.
- Buy Resource (freebie).
- Switch to Logos
- Issue "Update Now" (either command box or shortcut)
- <CRASH>
- Restart Logos
- Issue "Update Now"
- <CRASH>
- Restart Logos
- Wait for Logos to discover and index resource on its own.

I believe I've found and fixed the cause of this crash. It could be triggered when trying to manually start an update check while the system was already trying to do an update check. Your log shows that (as is normal) an update check was automatically started a short time after the main window opened. Before this check completed, your command came through to start the check (about 30 seconds later).
This fix will be available in beta 2. For now, know that you won't need to execute "update now" immediately after startup. If you do need to execute "update now", wait for a few minutes after the application has started.

Ha! I'll likely check it out at some point, but the last salesman I talked to who encouraged me to go ahead and pick up CE has me stretched so thin that I'd have trouble swinging the $150 for it if it was stretched out over a 24 mos payment plan! [:)]
