William Bingham:

Is there a book that has the history of the major players from about 35 A.D. to 100 A.D. When John died

Just bought one the other day: https://vyrso.com/product/43819/after-acts-exploring-the-lives-and-legends-of-the-apostles - I think it was mentioned/recommended by MJ.Smith somewhere on the forum. I haven't read it through, but with less than $8, it should be a start at least.

Copied for you the summary and TOC from the book:

Litfin, Bryan M.
After Acts : exploring the lives and legends of the apostles / Bryan Litfin.
    pages cm
Summary: What happened to all those biblical figures once the Bible was finished? We’ve all heard it said: “According to early church tradition, Peter was crucified upside down,” or “Paul went to Spain.” Did Thomas found the Indian church? Or did Mary live in Ephesus? Were the twelve disciples all eventually martyred? Where do these ancient traditions come from, and how historically reliable are they? What is meant by the term “early church tradition”? After Acts opens up the world of the Bible right after it was written. Follow along with New Testament scholar Dr. Bryan Litfin as he explores the facts, myths, legends, archaeology, and questions of what happened in those most early days of Christianity.—Provided by publisher.

the major players

Players in what field? Mick has some answers on the apostolic circle, but did you mean a larger circle (kings, empires, writers)?

A different approach than looking for a book would be that you could use the timeline tool as a compilation of and guide to the books you already have. Go to the timeline, enter the date span you want, choose the categories you are interested in. After that when you put your mouse on individual entries you will see links to articles in your library. This, of course, depends on how much you have in your library. If you have a fair number of general reference books, you should have something rather complete in the end, but if you have very few books, then only the entries from those books would show.

There's also Paul Barnett's The Birth of Christianity: The First Twenty Years, which covers the 30s and 40s, and many of the other resources in this collection: https://www.logos.com/product/36843/eerdmans-studies-in-early-christianity

I see the following is now offered on pre-pub.

The Beginnings of the Church by

by Frederick J. Cwiekowski

It is a Catholic publication by a priest/professor.. I am wondering if anyone can give details. The first view pages I viewed covered material I know well but did not give any real scope or view of the book. The contents outline are okay, but leave me wondering if I should order this book. At least it is not expensive (about $10).
