Since Logos Cloud is for people without base packages how does one leave after they've signed up?

Been listening to "Hey, you, get off of my cloud" (Rolling Stones) lately? [;)]

Sorry, couldn't help joking. I have no idea how to leave Logos Cloud once you've signed up. I'm sure Customer Service can help you with that if there's no obvious way from your login profile.

Scott, to leave the group, you can go to the group https://faithlife.com/logos-cloud/activity, on the right side of the page, click on the down arrow next to "You are a Follower", and then click "Leave this group.

That's how to leave the Faithlife group "Logos Cloud", but it doesn't seem to be how one would stop being subscribed to Logos Cloud which is what the OP was asking.

I don't know, it might be. After all, that is the way I got signed up for Logos Cloud, simply by joining the FL group, which is kinda scary.

I think this would be the case for the "early access" crowd. I'm assuming that doesn't constitute a "subscription" to Logos Cloud, but rather a pre-release trial. Could be wrong.

My impression, too. Once Faithlife asks for a credit card then I imagine your Orders page will have a way to stop your subscription. Faithlife could give us a clear answer.

    Sorry that wasn't very clear.

I was letting the OP know how to unsubscribe from the group right now. The FL group is how we'll be administering the license for Logos Cloud, ie if you're a follower of the Logos Cloud Faithlife Group on June 1, we're going to unlock a license for you. Thus, if you unfollow the group, you will essentially be opting out of the Logos Cloud Early Release Program before it even starts.

When someone joins the LogosCloud Faithlife Group sometime in June, we will unlock a license for them at that time.

    • No one currently has Logos Cloud. The Logos Cloud Faithlife Group is a mechanism we're using to administer the Early Release Program and delivering the licenses to Logos Cloud Premium on June 1.
    • The license we are unlocking is for Logos Cloud Premium and is only valid from June 1- June 30. You will not be able to use it after June 30. (so if you join on June 15, you get Logos Cloud Premium for 15 days).
    • We are not taking credit cards for the Early Release from June 1 - June 30. You won't be able to purchase Logos Cloud until July 1.
    • On July 1, we will open up Logos Cloud to the public to purchase/subscribe. At that time, we will take credit cards, and unlock whatever level of license you subscribe to.
    • When you subscribe to Logos Cloud on July 1, and you wish to cancel it, you can do so in the Subscriptions area in your profile.

Hope this helps. Let me know what I need to clarify.

Excellent explanation. I still have it on my to-do list to contact some folks I think may want to check it out. What is the best link to send them to introduce them?

Thanks again, we're really excited to partner with you guys in this!

After I test Logos Cloud, if I want one of the higher tiers of Logos Cloud, can my sales rep handle that for me? Will you offer yearly subscriptions to Logos Cloud as well? If I have a year subscription to Logos Now and decide to switch to a high end tier to Logos Cloud that contains all the same features of Logos Now, can I cancel Logos Now and have the partial credit applied to a Logos Cloud higher tier?

I stopped following the logos cloud group and I rebooted my computer as instructed by customer-service. I didn't stop downloading and it did not remove all the new books. Please help me remove this from my computer and return my logos back to the way it was.

I certainly hope that Logos will arrange a way to remove content so as not to clutter up the drive of users either in the Logos Cloud subscription if it gets cancelled or in Logos Now for the free month-long access to books that we don't end up buying.

Well, when my download of Cloud is finished, I intend to tag all these recent additions to the library with something like "Cloud". Then I'll be able to select and hide all of them in one go when the licence expires - shouldn't be an issue and not interfere with any updates these resources may get in the next weeks or stuff I buy in this time.

Same issue as I unintentionally signed up. 3 calls to customer support and they are still trying to figure out how to remove me from Logos Cloud so I do not need to download and hide these resources. Logos Cloud should be clear about how to sign up, what is included etc. Even if free for 1 month, to have a large download, index and then hide and remove resources is not the preferred way to introduce this product. I just want the free trial cancelled please and soon, so books I do order can be downloaded.

    Thanks

It is not currently as we are using a temporary access license for the June free trial. When we make all tiers of Logos Cloud available on July 1, it will show up in "Subscriptions".

Yeah, that was my surprise as I received an invite a few days ago from someone and thought I was just joining a FL group.  To my surprise today I saw the PC was running slow and I see about 4 GB of resources being downloaded or about 1500 resources.  I didn't think this was a gift from Logos but nothing showed up in my account page.  I had to call customer service to inquire what was happening.  They told me it was Logos Cloud.   I didn't want it so now like others I have to work though the deletion.

There should of be some sort of verification prompt that indicated what was about to happen and let you not do it.  Also it should of been clearer when you signed up to the FL group that you were automatically subscribing.

BTW, the sales guys had no explanation as to why I was seeing the resources being downloaded.

    Chris,

I am a Logos 6 user, I would like to try Logos Cloud [:)] but, my main concern is ... is there someway for me to tell (sort) in the Library as to which Resources were "subscribed" from Logos Cloud and which Resources were purchased and owned.

I have a fairly sizable Library, and I am concern about massive Library management nightmare(s). I recall in Libronix (Logos 3 and earlier) we can see Licensing information and know how a particular Resource has been licensed.

    Thank you.

Not currently, but we know that this would be a useful feature and it's something we'd like to implement in an update to the software. See also the discussion here: https://faithlife.com/logos-cloud/topics/1970

    Bradley,

Thank you for answering my question.  However, I cannot access the link that you have provided as I am not yet a "follower" in Logos Cloud, for fear of Library Management issues of differentiating OWNED and SUBSCRIBED Resources.

Sorry, I should have realised that.

In that thread, Phil mentioned that we're working on making a shared collection available, so you can use that to help filter resources in your Library (once you get the Cloud download).

    Bradley,

    Thanks [:)]

The Collection approach may not address my concern. Can I illustrate a problem that I anticipate ... last night I was reviewing some of the Commentary Set(s) that I owned for a while. I discovered 4 of these Set(s) have one additional new volume each.  Currently can depend on Dynamic Pricing on Logos Website to identify these missing volumes to purchase them.

I fear, once I sign up Logos Cloud I would have a problem if I cannot differentiate between OWNED vs SUBSCRIBED Licensed Resources. Specific case:

    • Baker Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament: 1–2 Thessalonians is the newly published missing Volume for my case.
    • I understand that Baker is one of the Publishing Partner for Logos Cloud.

I belong to the camp that wants to purchase and own logos resources [:)] but, thought of experimenting with Logos Cloud.

    LimJK,

that's not an issue currently. The Logos.com website doesn't recognize the temporary Cloud licence at all currently (and for some time until a better solution come along, see https://community.logos.com/forums/p/105700/731805.aspx#731805 ), so even if you have the resources in your library available through Cloud, the shop shows them as non-owned and you may buy them, including getting dynamic pricing.

Case in point are the Black's NT Commentaries or Themelios, both in the monthly June Sale as well as in Cloud.

Note that a product collection would include all your library resources that are part of the Cloud offering, which doesn't differentiate between owned vs. subscribed. That's where it might be advisable to use a mytag:Cloud or a special rating once the resources download.

A better solution going forward would be that Logos exposes the licence experience date as a field in the library (soon, people may have rented resources, may have resources for one month through LNow, a pre-paid one-year of Cloud and another Cloud level for one-month).

Seems to be something I also misunderstood. To me, "Cloud" implied that all these resources would reside there, not clutter up my computer. Now, I just want out of the Cloud and I also want all this gone from my Library.

    Jack,

I had to wait several hours after canceling before the 2.71 Gig download was not longer prodding me. I did not have to download and then hide hundreds of book. I have every one of my books tagged, so I could have seen all that were "cloud" books and hidden them. I suggest a call to customer service to cancel your "Logos Cloud".

If you have downloaded you need to hide the books for them to be removed from your hard drive and then reindex. My concern is how many people will have gigs of resources left on their HD after this "trial". No one with any significant size library will continue on the subscription without some dynamic pricing which has yet to be determined.

The other not so pleasant alternative is to  get a list and go to your resources directory and manually remove them. An e mail from customer support suggested to reinstall the program including a complete download of resources to only remove those left by the trial...

I spent a lot of time working with my library to get it where I want it and do not want a mess left after a 30 day trial. But there are worse things than having to try out hundreds of new resources for a month for free...

Message me if you need more clarification.

Thanks for the information. Reluctant to hide resources, as something worthwhile may have come down at the same time. There was one journal from the Master bundle, but I don't know if there was anything else. I don't really have a problem with HD space, so I may just leave it alone. Will make sure I do not launch Logos Win in the meanwhile [:D] I like to keep it updated in case of a fatal bug in the Mac beta.

    Chris,

Does simply clicking on "Leave this group" keep you from having to download the resources?   I have two installs on the PC, Verbum and Logos Beta.  I see that Verbum has downloaded the 4GB as it was running.  I presently do not have Logos Beta running.  So now that I have unsubscribed and I invoke the Logos Beta I assume it will not download the resources?

    Mick,

Thanks for your input that for the month of June 2015 Logos Cloud is made available via Faithlife Group mechanism, so it does not interfere with Licensing as you have described when doing new purchases of OWNED Resources.

However, in July 2015 the Real Subscription Mechanism will be used, I suppose it is going to be something like in Logos Now (I subscribed to this). Not sure if we can differentiate during (a) purchasing and (b) in the Library when downloaded.

From the reply above by Bradley, something is going to be done to expose the Licensing information. I just need some assurance that we can sort library by OWNED or SUBSCRIBED Resources so that we can Hide or Tag with confidence. I apologize if I sound paranoid, because I spent months to get my Library in Order ... Tagging, Collections, Parallel Resources Set, etc.

The Community Collection idea and manual tagging idea for Cloud Resources seem like a stop gap measure, it can work provided you do not get your OWNED resources (New Purchases, Pre-Pub, Logos Now and Logos Cloud download at the same time.  Then we have to manually manage ourselves; that is my fear [:(]

I am struggling whether I should signup or not to signup [:(]

If you have downloaded you need to hide the books for them to be removed from your hard drive and then reindex.

Note that this simply means that the program won't download resources you don't own. (Prior to this, if a download was started and then you left Logos Cloud, the Cloud resources would be downloaded even though you no longer owned them.)

It does not mean that locked resources will be removed from your hard drive.

I've just experimented with an idea that I think someone mentioned earlier in this forum or another.

    • My library pane (still in Logos 4! [:O]) lets me sort by "Last Updated".
    • So I've found everything updated "Yesterday" (you can insert your own cloudburst date).
    • I can check this against the report on my Home screen of the number of new resources when Logos Cloud delivered (all 1,371).
    • So now I've bulk-tagged all of those – minus the one that I intended to download and keep – ready for bulk action later in the month.
    • I understand that I can then delete ("hide") all 1,370 of them whenever I like. That should delete them from my hard drive, which then simply needs to be reindexed.

Given that I hadn't expected the influx of resources to my local drive, I'm a tiny bit frustrated at having to do this. But it's a fairly simple process when, like LimJK, I don't want to mess with all my other tagging / indexing / sorting / etc.
