Apple just announced the iPad - I really hope you guys can tweak the iPhone App of Logos to work on that
"Can run all iPhone apps unmodified out of the box."
except they're either small or pixel-doubled
"Now if the developer spends some time modifying their app, they can take full advantage of this display."

CNBC reports "The iPad will be able to run all current Iphone apps unmodified" may not need to do anything from the Logos side of things
Todd beat me to it!
Logos 4 for iPad... Looking forward to it...
Now that is the APP to have.....
ANd not like the iphone app. Which is cool, but the downloading of books doesn’t seem to work as described for me.
Please, please, please let there be an updated Logos app made specifically for the iPAD. Now if I can just get my husband to buy me one!

I know that many were disappointed about the release of the iPad for different reasons (e.g. it didn't live up to the hype). In my opinion it has great potential. Even without a tweaked iPhone app (which I'm sure Logos will jump on), the ability to store books on an eReader device like you can on the current iPhone app will be amazing. I like the ability for an iPhone, but the iPad will be revolutionary for Logos. We can all carry our (highly readable) digital libraries with us everywhere. I don't believe there will even be a need for the data plan. With 64GB of Flash memory, it won't be a problem to save the entire library in the iPad's memory! This product may not revolutionize most people's lives, but I think it has the potential to revolutionize the way we use Logos!

Most people's libraries will fit in the 16MB base model.
Good point, Todd. You are saving Logos users money before these things ever ship. Great stewardship.

I pray I'm not breaking any forum rules by posting the video above. The iPad is going to certainly make my Logos experience even that much better. I was a little disappointed intially, but after actually seeing the device, I'm in love! It is just the perfect size between my iPod and laptop. This device solidified my decision to upgrade to Portfolio before the 31st.
Wow, Portfolio? And you are worried about convincing your husband to buy you an iPad? Good luck on both fronts.

I'm not sure the 16 Mb model would be a wise choice. I don't have one of the larger libraries yet I wouldn't want to try to crowd it into that -- no room left over.

Maybe not, but without indexes, my resources take up just over 11 GB for my Platinum + "many extras" library (although I do have a good portion of the files hidden). But I was thinking most people wouldn't have as much as that.

What people fail to realize is that it's nothing more than OS X on a different chip. Thats all the iPhone is. The Underground really proved what the iPhone could do and be. the iPad now makes a lot of those ideas more realistic.
The programmers will come out in droves if Apple doesn’t play the CONTROL the device game. This could blow away any laptop if they allow freedom to reign....
The app store for iPhone was a plus and a minus. The minus being it CONTROLLED development instead of allowing freedom. But thats socialism for you. LOL...

lol...lol...lol...
Thanks Wiliam, I need all the luck I can muster up! Have a blessed day!
Yes, I agree with George (as usual ) and I would recommend 32GB version. You surely want to have some room for music and lectures and videos etc.
The most important thing for me is, full size Logos in it and the ability to open Office docs also. I want to preach from that little thing. So far I use 13 inch laptop. Not too practical and too visible.

What doesn't work? Aside from some books not yet available it does work well.

I selected he ESV for offline viewing, supposedly allowed it to download and do it's thing.... BUt On the train last week, I decided
I wanted to do some reading, and all I had was the pre-cached files from my last reading session... Though I selected online viewing mode. Is there an option to download the book after selecting offline mode....
I do believe you mean 16GB? http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/27/the-apple-ipad/
After nearly a decade of rumors and speculation, Apple's finally unveiled the iPad. It's a half-inch thick and weighs just 1.5 pounds, with a 9.7-inch capacitive touchscreen IPS LCD display, and it's running a custom 1GHz Apple "A4" chip developed by the P.A. Semi team, with a 10-hour battery life and a month of standby. It'll come in 16, 32, and 64GB sizes, and it's got the expected connectivity: very little. (emphasis mine)
Howdy, tball...if that is in fact your real name... What's the good word from Logos? Are there plans to modify the new app for the iPad? If so what can you share with us?
I'm loving the new IPAD for all the same reasons you guys are "For LOGOS4IPAD" right? One question for you folks, "Would the IPAD allow logos4mac's library to be read on IPAD's reader software?" Look at the ipad demo and especially the bookstore part.....The way their software allows you to read a book is amazing......seemless page turning technology.....Would their software logos4mac's library into their reading platform? If so, that would be an incredible way to view your logos4mac platform....I mean incredible!!! Has anyone at LOGOS4MAC thought of that yet? Blessings you guys....
