Logos.com not prepared for Logos Cloud etc.

Logos.com currently has no way to show that I already have access to a product through a (potentially time-limited) subscription licence such as available through Logos Cloud or - some resources - Logos/Verbum Now.

Of course this information is relevant for a purchase:

  • people may look into the actual resource and be more inclined to buy when a book is on sale
  • people may not buy when they find they have the book - which increases their willingness to continue with a paid subscription when balancing cost against "saved purchases"
  • people may buy but later hide the "subscription-only" books when they discontinue the subscription - which will lead to unintentional hiding of bought resources. Knowing the book was part of the subscription would help removing the mytag that is necessary to keep track of temporarily owned books.

I'd expect an information box like "You currently have access to this resource on a temporary licence - buy to make it permanently yours!"

Have joy in the Lord! Smile

    Sounds like common sense.

I strongly support everything NB.Mick wrote.

What I am very glad about is that the websites have not simply marked the books I have temporary access to via Logos Cloud as bought--that would be bad.

This is on our radar. We have plans to show which items are included in Logos Cloud and to show you which items you have access to by virtue of your Logos Cloud subscription. You may still want to purchase permanent ownership, but we want you to do that intentionally, not accidentally.

No timeframe yet, but we're actively discussing it.
