Logos Cloud is a misnomer.  Over 4GB of resources being downloaded.  Per customer service, no way to turn off the Logos Cloud free trial download.  So, I will use up 9GB of bandwidth on 2 computers for content that will go "poof" on July 1st.  Except it will still be on my hard drive.  Did anyone at Logos think this through?

Maybe the better question would be, why wasn't the potential size of the download advertised? I am sure they thought through the size of it.

In fairness they did tell us that we would be getting a library that is a close equivalent to a Diamond size library.

"The $49.99/mo. option will give you all functionality and a Diamond-sized library."

So 4 GB should not be a complete surprise if we thought this through (I didn't, but am OK with it).

I think the name "Logos Cloud" is the real problem.  Implied at first glance for a lot of folks that the resources were in the cloud.  I sure wasn't expecting a download of all those resources.

If you are starting from scratch, the download is stated by Faithlife to be over 7 GB.

That wasn't really made that clear...I thought it would be cloud access only.  Oh well...I'm glad I primarily use a Chromebook these days!

I similarly assumed Logos Cloud would be--- cloudy.  I subscribed for the free month to see what it would be like, but when the month is done, is there a way to clean-up the deluge (4 gb worth)?  Can I delete the content afterwards?

I'm one more victim of the (very aptly titled) cloudburst. I was surprised to find that June's free book of the month seemed to be chewing up 3.2GB.

Yeah--this is odd, especially since logoscloud.com shows a picture of the Web app (app.logos.com). That's more what one expects with "Cloud," especially since none of the marketing copy (that I can find) suggests you access Logos Cloud via... er... your desktop.

Does one have to have Logos Now to access the Web app, or does Logos Cloud include access to it?

My library exploded from about 1,200 books to almost 3,000!  I hope I will be able to get these 1,800 books off my system when they are disabled at the beginning of July.  I have a feeling that the only way will be to do a complete uninstall and reinstall with many hours of indexing.  What a pain!!

FL is aware of this issue and are working on a plan to deal with it. This issue was raised in another thread (which I can't find at the moment) and that was FL's response.

Ah, the fun of essentially being a beta-tester of Logos Cloud!

Logos cloud includes access to it.

If they don't come off your computer you may find yourself receiving updates to the sources you cannot use. I hope you don't have to go through that but Logos Cloud is still Beta.

Yes, a real misnomer if ever there was one.

I don't think anybody was

From what little I read, I, too, thought this was not going to be a huge download of resources.  I did not sign up for it and am very glad based on what others have said.  I don't want clutter on my hard drive.  What I really like is my experience of Logos on the iPad, without downloading resources.  I can use my resources, run Guide reports-all without downloading anything but the app.

https://logoscloud.com/ has:

"Download and install on your Mac or PC, use the mobile app on the go, or access through a web browser (beta)"

which suggests that you can use it from your desktop and this does involve downloading resources.

Yes, but I too read that last line "or access through a web browser (beta)" as suggesting that it would be fully cloud-based service (ie Biblia), just with more functionality.

It can be for those who don't download the application. It is intended primarily for those who want only the cloud-based service but it does integrate with the other Faithlife products.

I've seen this, but the "or" implies to me that download would be one option. It obviously is an option ... but not one that's explained in advance to existing desktop users. Tongue Tied
